AskWoody LoungerGold Lounger – Thanks for the reply. I know that you can have up to 7 devices paired at one time BUT ONLY l of each kind – such as: 1 printer, 1 headset, 1 phone, 1 audio device (speakers) and so on. I have been told that the only way is use a FM transmitter w/FM headsets.
I’m still hope to find a solution using bluetooth.
Sorry ’bout that. Hit the reply button twice.

AskWoody Loungerrunedog – I had the same problem. I remember installing the new SpyBot 2 the day before I starting having the problem.
It turns out that if you go to Start Center/Advanced Tools/Settings/System Integration and click on uninstall Windows Explorer integration it solves the “Windows Explorer Has Stopped Working” problem.

AskWoody LoungerRetiredGeek -I tried booting from the CD but still got “disk has changed, cannot do requested”.
DwayneR – Your suggestion worked. There was a little red dot on the word Disk 1. A right click gave choice of online. A click on online and the disk came online.
Thanks -

AskWoody LoungerJean –
When I had my problem, I had already ticked, clicked and checked the IPv6 squares you show in your post, no joy. I had been on 3 forums and had many answers but nothing worked. I found the regedit answer by chance and it worked. I later heard that while IPv6 is not used yet, Win 7 requires ALL parts of IPv6 be enabled. However my fathers Win 7 does not IPv6 checked and his PC works just fine.
I think that this is just one more mysteries about all OS’s. Not everything works for everyone.

AskWoody Loungerraymond – I had the same problem a few months ago and found the answer at http://helpdeskgeek.com/windows-7/windows-7-cannot-connect-to-homegroup/.
I found that I had to do the registry change before I could connect. This change is about half way down the page.
Good Luck.

AskWoody LoungerRui – Nothing has changed with the firewall nor to the home network setting. I still had the error message before I check the firewall setting but before I could send a reply to you we had a internet cable outage. I check with others in the area and it was wide spread. About 1 hour later, the internet connection came back on. I checked and I now have homegroup connection. It must have been something in the router that was causing the problem. Don’t know how to check this out but will keep it in mind if I every have another problem like this.
Thanks for the help and mark this one solved.

AskWoody LoungerRui – As I stated in the first post, I have checked that all folders and files I want to share are “marked to share and allow”. I had no problem for 11 months sharing files between the PC’s.

AskWoody LoungerRui and PT – Thanks for the replies. I have tried your suggestion but get the same results (Windows can not access…….etc). As I stated before, I can ping using BOTH name and IP address and have success.
Is there anything else I can try?

AskWoody LoungerI am sorry, I don’t understand.
Thanks for your suggestion, but……….. What do I access? How do I use \IP.of.B.PC? And what is it?

AskWoody LoungerHi Ted –
Thanks for the 2 cents. I have been trying some other things before I got your message.
Both my wired desktop report that IPv6 is disabled. When I check, the network cards say that IPv6 is enabled.
Until I get this fixed it does me no good to try and join any homegroup.
Thanks again. -

AskWoody LoungerGerald –
Things are starting to come back to me. I installed Win 7 on both desktop back in early Nov. I remember having some trouble with “Homegroups” then. I recall that I did something to make the connect work WITHOUT having to join a homegroup.I now have desktop #1 with a homegroup named “Network” (and available to join) and PC #2 with a homegroup named “Network 2” (and showing “Joined”). Also have the new laptop with no homegroup but is “Available to join”.
Both the desktops are connected via LAN and the laptop is wireless.
When I click on laptop to join a box pop’s up stating that PC #2 has created a homegroup on the network and wants me to join it. The only password I have is the one from PC #1 (which doesn’t work of course). I cannot get the password for PC #2 because I do not have a View button to click. I also do not have any options to “Change Homegroup Settings”.
I have tried to join PC #2 to PC #1 using it’s password. No Go! I use the troubleshooter and get a “Have to have IPv6 enabled. I go the network adapter and the IPv6 protocol is checked. Have uninstalled and reinstalled without success.
I can’t remember how I got the two desktops working without be joined but they work.
Any ideas?

AskWoody LoungerOK. I did this before I posted the first time. “Click Start, type homegroup, and then press ENTER. Click View or print the homegroup password.” and I have NO VIEW to click.
Any other ideas?
