UPDATE: Malwarebytes made no difference. I wish I knew what FB is using to determine that something in my computer is showing unauthorized ads. While I use Ad Blocker in FF (on both computers), I don’t have any add-ons for Chrome, and both have the problem on the desktop computer. However, it must be something to do with the browsers, because IE8 doesn’t have the problem.

Ted, thanks for your jumping in.

      Anyone else have any suggestions?

Ted, the message shows up immediately upon signing in to FB. It’s their web page (https://www.facebook.com/checkpoint/) saying it, it’s not a scam. The McAfee message also is from the FB site. I have run Avast, MS Security Essentials and Combofix. I’ll try the malwarebytes, I’ve used it many times in the past. After closing the page, opening http://fb.com again, then logging in, I now get each of these new messages that end the same way … (note that FB still works on my laptop)

Gary, thank you for this tip. Much better than the prior one. In Word 2003, you could open a toolbar named “Location (URL)” and I couldn’t find the solution in 2007.

The answer in H2 is perfectly correct as 243.86-5.39 = 238.47. As the formula asked for.

The errors start showing up in rows 4 & 6.

    • in reply to: Disappearing restore points in Vista and Win7 #1210989

Just a thought … I am wondering if the problem on these multi-OS systems, is that each OS is trying to maintain restore points on all the drives and there is some conflict.

For example, I have 2 physical drives, one with Win7 and one for XP, each partitioned into 4 drives (OS, programs, data, archives). By default, my Win7 System Protection was set to monitor all drives. There is no need for one OS to maintain a drive it doesn’t use, so I turned off monitoring on the drives not used by the OS. I also turned it off for data and archive drives, since a restore point takes up space and is of no value except for the OS and programs.
