The text was grayed out but it is Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003.

I took everyone suggestions and it worked perfectly on two machines. However, on one machine when Excel opens, there is no workbook open. I have to press the icon to open Book1. That is ok, I just wanted to know if there is something that can be done.

      Thank you. That worked.

Thank you. Yes, there was more than one Book.xlt. After I made this correction it still opens as Book.xlt, instead of Book1. Also, it still wants to save in XLStart directory instead of MyDocuments. How do I redirect.

Modifying the Book.XLT and Sheet.XLT has caused three problems. 1)When I turn on Excel I get both the Sheet.xlt and Book.Xlt to open instead of Book1. 2) When I go to save the first spreadsheet, it wants to save to the XLS Start directory so I always have to redirect to the correct drive, etc. 3) while working on a spreadsheet, if I want to insert a sheet, I get three sheets instead of 1. Any suggestions?

      That was it.

I followed these directions and now I have a problem with the normal style. I asked for normal to have two decimal places. Now when I type in the number 2005, I get 20.05. I have tried establishing a custom style but that is not correcting the problem. Any suggestions?

I changed the default spreadsheet in the XLSTART directory. That allowed me to change the Normal style to always have a comma with 0 decimals.

I need to make a change to the macro. In this statement:
      For intCol = 6 To 7
I need to also include column B, so I changed the code to read:
      For intCol = 2, 6 To 7
It didn’t work. How should I have included the extra column in the code?

Excellent knowledge you just taught me.

When I copied both the macro and the combo boxes for the rolling quarters to the actual spreadsheet, the the combo box works, but the cells do not update the values like they do in the prototype. I checked properties, link cell and list field and they all go to the correct sheet and range. any idea why the cells don’t update?

It varies every time the data subtotals is run.

Your sample is exactly correct. It is a typical data subtotal. On the subtotal row, the name of the field is used and then the word ‘Total’. I had wanted to insert a blank row above and below each subtotal so it would stand out. Almost like a conditional format, but for data subtotals.
