Very well. I cannot say I have ever known a link to fail anyway. I am retiring July 25th so I was just thinking of any last minute things I might do before I pass my work on to someone else.

And just in case I have no further need to post on Woody’s Lounge, I want to say it has been a tremendous experience and education to read the posts and receive the help I have needed. Many thanks to you Hans, and all the great folks who contribute to helping people like me.

The links should never change to the database tables or to the text files. I was thinking of refreshing the links just as a safeguard.

I am wondering if I can use the RefreshLinks function in my application. There are 23 linked tables, 3 of which are linked to text files.

Also, am I correct in thinking that strFileName is the database name the tables are linked to? If so I would obviously have to treat my text file links differently.

      How should I approach this?

      Outstanding!

The snippet worked perfectly. With 301 spreedsheets involved, Hans, you are a life saver.

Sorry Hans. The post is post 695155. I’m still too much a novice at adapting code.

What would I do without my friend from the Netherlands? Works beautifully of course.

I copied everything into a new database and ran the code successfully three times. I have not been able to do that in the recent past. I guess something had gotten corrupted.

No doubt I’m missing something here, but I do not see any reports in your Switchboard, only forms. What form or report are you referring to exactly?

OK, I see what you are referring to. I set the page to 8×14 and I get a single page. If you work at shrinking the size of your sub report you will probably be able to get it on an 8×11. I am sure there will be better suggestions than mine.

      Yes, that helps indeed.

I see if the criteria is entered any other way the query results in no records. Would you explain the logic please?

That’s good to know. I appreciate that, Steve.

Thank you so much for your help and understanding. An by the way, with the added brackets the SQL runs without error.

It’s a good thing I’m not a brain surgeon. I completely forgot I appended a date, with spaces, to the table name. I otherwise never use spaces. But now I have to ask why the single quotes around the database name? Or did Access just add them as it often does in queries?

    • in reply to: Table export links (2003 sp2) #1101494

bummer Gee wiz Hans, the table is linked in this new database. It is a good thing I only have 95 more working days before I retire, my brain is drying up.
