Yes and no. It’s a clean install of 10 but it’s from having 7. I don’t remember if it was on this Forum or another that showed how to do it using “gatherosstate.exe” to create a “GenuineTicket.xml” from the 7 install and using it in conjunction with “MediaCreationTool.exe” to create an “iso” and adding the XML to the new install of 10.

On “Y: I have Y:Opera_CacheOpera StableCache” and “Media Cache” and on “C:” I’m down to “C:UsersMarcAppDataLocalOpera Software” and I still get the “Cannot create a file” message.

mklink /D “C:UsersMarcAppDataLocalGoogleChromeUser DataDefaultCache
” “Y:ChromeCache”You suggested that I change it to:
mklink /D “Y:ChromeCache” “Y:ChromeCacheC:UsersMarcAppDataLocalGoogleChromeUser DataDefaultCache”
I get the “Cannot create a file” message.
When I try it with no folder:
mklink /D “C:UsersMarcAppDataLocalOpera SoftwareOpera Stable” “Y:Opera_cacheOpera Stable”
You suggested that I change it to:
mklink /D “Y:Opera_cacheOpera Stable” “C:UsersMarcAppDataLocalOpera SoftwareOpera Stable”
I still get “The system cannot find path” message.

AskWoody LoungerDecember 25, 2016 at 12:28 am in reply to: Upgrading from XP to Windows 10 and reinstalling Folder Marker Pro. #1587572You should try copying the last part of the path “Folder MarkericlColors.icl” into the Folder C:UsersMarcAppDataRoamingArcticLine
Then verify that %FOLDER_MARKER_DIR% in the environment expands to “C:UsersMarcAppDataRoamingArcticLineFolder Marker”
You can verify this by typing “echo %FOLDER_MARKER_DIR%” into a command prompt window.
I hope this puts you on the right track.
It’s in roaming but the environment point to the Folder Marker folder in Progam Files (x86). Neither one of these solves all the ones that reference “C:Documents and SettingsMarcApplication DataArcticLineFolder MarkericlColors.icl”

AskWoody LoungerSeptember 8, 2016 at 8:07 pm in reply to: 10 is supposed to be installable on a drive as small as 20GB but I’m already running out of space. #1577162Sorry it’s taken so long to respond. This is a clean install so there’s no Windows.old. In XP the upgrades where shown as blue folders. I’ve looked everywhere to remove those and the install files but can’t find them. I think their the majority of the problem. I didn’t know I could more the users files. Does right clicking on the User folder give you the option to move them like it does Documents or do I need to do something else?

AskWoody LoungerJuly 21, 2016 at 3:58 pm in reply to: I’m finally going to go from XP to 7 to 10 and have a few questions. #1571143Two out of the three are finished after many fits and starts! The one computer won’t boot from a USB, Gigabyte MB, the other something kept on corrupting the install on a brand new hard drive but it’s working fine. I was sort of concerned on the speed on the oldest computer but it was 3GB of memory and is more than acceptable for a HTPC.
Thanks to everyone.
