Thanks Hans! Yes!! that’s what I thought.

However this particular graphic is not linked (or at least I can’t find any reference to it!) even though the person who sent it to me can see it, it does not appear when I read it. Any ideas?

Billiant – that did the trick – thanks for all your help.

This will be a handy thing for me when I am training as toolbars have disappeared before (surely it should not be possible?)

That’s MS for you I guess!

      regards Val

I can only find one copy of OutCmd.dat and this is dated 12/11/2000 – I can’t see how this can be holding toolbar customisation. However, I did rename it and it didn’t make any difference.

Any other ideas – would going back to safe mode help for instance?

    • in reply to: Importing csv files to Excel (2002) #635435

Peter – The customer has a file which they wish to edit in Excel and import to our database. We suggested CSV format and have now coded it in. We were just a little miffed that this couldn’t be a simple operation that anyone could do. The fudge around using a capital o means there is no hastle they open the file, edit and we just pick it up. The reason I don’t like it is that it is bound to be forgotten at some time where the whole inventing the wheel again thing will happen. Using tab delimited does mean that Excel saves the leading 0, but its still a hasstle to go through the import wizard each time

Legare – thanks for the macro which does the job. It still seems to be using a sledge hammer to crack a nut – but nothing is perfect in computing!

      Thanks for all your help!

Oh thanks for looking at this for me. Unfortunately, the contents of this file are displayed in the database and this would show up the single quote – I wonder if there is a non printing character that could be entered which Excel would interprete as text, but would not appear when displayed as plain text from the database.

I also wondered if it is possible to turn off Excel turning imported numbers into numbers at import. (Does that makes sense?)

      Your thoughts are much appreciated.

    • in reply to: Calender categories (OL 2K) #625758

You can filter by categories from a day, week, month view – does that help?

    • in reply to: Calender categories (OL 2K) #625739

Try changing the view to a list view like all appointments – this will give you more flexibility. (change views from the view menu, current view)

      Thanks for your help.

I was hoping that there would be a way that we could set it so that our users could import data using the wizard – it looks like this is not possible!

    • in reply to: Insert Outlook Address in Word (Word 2000/Outlook 2000) #625219

Have you considered putting all the contacts into a shared folder – thereby making them available to all. You can use categories to group all the contacts by each individual and create views for each attorney so they don’t need to see the whole set.

Apologies if I have missed something and this is totally out of the picture.

The form is working fine when creating new records and the folder properties are set as you suggest. It is only when data is imported that it defaults back to the standard form.
