Another method of doing this is to use the watch window. For details on using it in Excel 2007 see Watch a formula and its result by using the Watch Window – Microsoft Office Online

In Excel 2002 you can access the watch window via “View | Toolbars | Watch Window”

Thank you all for your help! I greatly appreciate it.

Once you add your macros or make any changes, simply hold down your Shift key and click on File | Save All. The next time you open Word all your macros, etc. should be there for you. It is a glitch that comes with Acrobat 7. It sees the changes and cleans them out, but once you click on Shift |Save All, you should be good to go.

This applies to MS Word 2007.

When you enter text into your Word document that is something other than English, chances are that MS Word will not recognize and will interpret it as being misspelled.

MS Word is programmed to automatically proofread your document for the language version that is installed on your computer. If you purchased your licensed copy of MS Word in the US, your text will be marked as English (U.S.) and Word will proof non-English text against the English dictionary.

When you add text in a language other than English, Word’s spelling and grammar checker will flag them as being misspelled. To let Word know which dictionary to use to proof the text, you should mark it for proofing in its own language by assigning a style.

Key in the foreign language text.
      Select the text.
Go to Tools | Language | Set Language.
Scroll to and select the language from the Mark Selected Text As list.
      Click OK.
Go to View | Task Pane.
Click the Getting Started arrow and select Styles and Formatting from the list.
With the text still selected, click New Style.
Enter a Name for the style in the Name box.
      Click OK.

Now when you want Word to proof your text in that language, simply highlight the text and select the name from the drop-down Style box in the Formatting toolbar. This new style will be available to the current document only. If you want it to be available to the template the document is based on, click the Add To Template check box in the New Style dialog box after step 9 before clicking OK.

I have found the numbering in MS Word 2007 to be only slightly less confusing than in previous versions. Following the steps below should make the process a bit easier for folks:
On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click on Multilevel List.
Use the drop-down arrow to open the List Library,
      Select Define New List Style.
The Define New List Style dialog box is displayed.
Name your List Style using something that is intuitive to you.
To get access to all options for the list, click the Format button.
      Click Numbering.
As with any multi-level list, it is a good idea to associate each list level with a paragraph style.

Once you have created your list style, it will appear under the List Styles heading on the Home tab, under Multilevel Lists. You can click an icon to apply that list to your text. You can also make use of the Apply Styles task pane using the CTRL + Shift + S shortcut, just like you do with any other style. If you attached paragraph styles, it will be easier to apply the paragraph style to text directly.

To modify a list style, follow the steps below:

On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click on the drop-down arrow next to Multilevel List.
The Current List will be displayed.
Find the list you would like to change and right-click on it and select Modify from the context menu.

Sorry Hans! As you know from past experience I always have problems with links when I post! It just isn’t intuitive for me for some reason!

    • Have you installed the PDF Add In for MS Word? It is a free add in, but it is not installed with MS Word. You can find it on the Microsoft site.

From the Dell site. I have also updated the bios. Dell now wants to replace the motherboard and powersupply! I had to tell the tier three tech how to look at the event log for pity’s sakes!

I have downloaded the latest video driver – yes. A new video card was installed yesterday and the problem still persists.

      Hi Leif,

I have unplugged the cable several times and then replugged it. I have swapped out the monitor and had the same problem with the other monitor. I just finally got it to restart and got this error: ATI video bios poller client: ATI2evxx.exe: Application Error. The instruction at “0x7c911e58” referenced memory at (string of zeroes). The memory could not be read.

I had to manually turn the machine off twice and restart it twice to get it to actually boot up and even then I didn’t get the windows music and it kept flashing that Auto Detect several times before it booted.
