      Yes. The EU is the create and has no problems opening files on his PC. Just searching for them. He can work fine on PC except for the Search Function. I’m pretty sure I logged in as Administrator and tried it and it did not work either.

      I guess I need to MORE clear. The files I am searching for exists. If I browse manually I see all the files. Nothing is hidden. It is there, plain as day.

      If you were to diagnose this problem, you would do all that was mentioned. Then you would search for a file that does exist. This is exactly what I have done. File does not come up in search mode. But it is there in the Windows Explorer screen,

      Sorry I thought I was being clear. I am searching the WHOLE C: DRIVE. All sub folders…… all hidden files. So now what?

      Regular files are being searched.

      Resume.doc
      *.exe
      jancalendar

      And I am searching on the Root of C: or like the root of a share drive; G:smithpte$

      Same thing.

      No files found

      After working with it for a while, I realize that a couple of virus’ have infected the PC. I’ve seen this before. I plan on installing Windows XP anyway.

      Thanks

      Call it Crazy but it works!!!

      I have a Linksys 4port/Wireless system on DSL.

      I put it in my bedroom on the corner wall sitting on top of my TV so it is about 5 feet off the ground.
      When I walked into the livingroom about 50 feet away, I was at 40%. It was so slow.
      Then I bumped into a stranger at a train station with a 802.11 card on his laptop he forgot to take out. We got to talking about signal strenght and I told him about my problem. He told me to create a arc shape ‘reflector’ out of aluminum foil and have it sit behind the 2 antenas of my linksys. I did. It looks like a curved rectangle piece like from a radar dish. I was willing to try anything!!

      Well, it worked. I can go out to my backyard office on the laptop and it is about 70 feet away. The signal goes through 2 solid walls of the house and one from the back office.

      I had a friend try it also. He has a wireless hub on the bottom floor and a Desktop with a IDE wirless card on the second. He was getting poor signal strength before the Foil and about 60% after.

      I think the walls of my house was sucking all the signals because I placed it in the corner, 2 feet from the wall. Call it crazy but it works!

    • in reply to: Using Combo Box to control Query (Access 2000 SR-1) #677772

      I think I am missing somethiong here. It did not work. Are you saying the end result for the criteria will be *.* That did not work.

      In combo1 I selected ‘California’
      In the rest, I placed the default to be *
      Is the query supposed to be:
      Combo1=’California’
      Combo2=*.*
      Combo3=*.*
      Combo4=*.*
