This happened before and I fixed before. Couldn’t remember how.

Then, I did. Add / remove programs. Select Office Pro 2003. Repair.

      Fixed it. Yeay.

      Hey Joe,

Used didn’t complain so I put on back burner. I looked at what you suggested. It’s set for 24 hours login. I don’t see anywhere where I can extend session time so user doesn’t get logged off after about 10 or so hours. Any other ideas???

      Thanks.

If there is a login restriction set somewhere in the server, I need to turn it off or extend it. Where do I find it?

    • in reply to: NAS suggestions #1233284

Yes I do. I’m already backing some files up that way. I want to get away from that. Or, should I be looking at that more seriously?????

I’d like to find a NAS that comes recommended by actual SBS users for backup. Because of it’s design, it would then be easy to have a copy of our files off site (assuming we are using more than one of course – that we would rotate use of).

Are you it is not just the screensaver kicking and you have it set to require a password to resume?

      Joe

No, it’s the windows login box coming up asking me to press ctl alt del to login again.

    • in reply to: Document manager for the SBS? #1224686

The proper recommendation depends on your company needs. If you plan on operating as you have in the past then folder redirection is the way to go. If you need to have mulitple versions, check out/in, and other featues you should be looking at SharePoint. The bares bones version called WSS in SBS 2003 is free.

      Joe

Thanks everyone. I’ll check this out (WSS). Appreciate the comments and suggestions.

(We are going with 2003 for compatibility reasons with some of our accounting software btw).

    • in reply to: What e-mail client are you using? #1222571

I set up a computer with Windows 7. Thunderbird was the closest I could find to replace Outlook Express. Once configured, it works fine.

My filters for gmail work great. I have some hidden and some showing on my folder list on the left side.

First, I make a label, such as “test”.

Then, I make a filter to fit that label. On maintain label, look at setting at top header. Select filter. Select appropriate field (for me, From:). Has the words (for me, Amazon). Do a test search if you want. Otherwise next step button. I check skip the inbox (archive) and apply the label “test”. Thus when email comes in with Amazon in the from field, it is marked and put in “test” folder. Try it.
