AskWoody LoungerAlso check for a small fan inside the case. I have gone through three of the ######s (about one a year) and when that goes out you get these really weird random reactions.

AskWoody LoungerShane are you talking about having it open full screen (F11) which actually makes my tool bar disappear. I just discovered that setting but have no idea how to make it happen except by default which is always on or always off. Edited because i discovered that I had marked auto hide on the toolbar option which only shows up after F11 is activated.
I’ll be watching this with interest to see what the question really is and what answers show up.
The one that irritates me is when a web site takes over my browser tool bar and changes the configuration to those idiot buttons. Usually only on popups which I generally ignore anyway. But it’s still aggravating

AskWoody LoungerI love Q except that it won’t let me print checks on any size I want. I have an old 98 version but so long as it works with Turbo I don’t see a need to upgrade. Unless they come up with changes in the check writing capabilities. Mean time has anybody got a way to force Q to write standard size checks?

I discovered that about the same time you were posting this. Learning more all the time. -

AskWoody LoungerOK after careful perusal of everyword in the help file I figured out what is happening. Irfanview is telling me that these files will open from Irvanview.
What I want to change is that I have a whole bunch of old icon files that are not named only numbered and I relied on the preview images to tell what they were now I have to click on them to see them. I also have several sailboat images which are only slightly different and they used to have a small preview icon showing the differences. Now I can’t see them all at once to compare them. Guess I can save them in one file to do that. I do have to admit that the click brings Irfan up instantly.
Anyway I am still working with it. At least I finally got one of my sailboats into a format that would load here. Looks like it is going to need some editing tho.

AskWoody LoungerI loaded Irfan and associated everything. Now when I use it to look at a bmp ico etc the preview icon turns into that irvanview icon. I can’t figure out how to change it. And I don’t know what they were assocated with before. Something under Win98 or Officepro97.
If business is slow today maybe I can get a chance to work with it some and try the hints here.

AskWoody LoungerI loaded Irfanview and the first thing it did was change my little identifying icons for each file to the rorsarch blood splatch that is Irfanview. Haven’t figured out how to change them back yet. Still working my way through the
help files. I don’t to change the associations back do I?>>That lounge lizard is going to get intoxicated he is popping up every few seconds now.

AskWoody LoungerJust a bit of levity to give you a grin with your problem. When I tried to load my Logitech trackball under Win98, windows gives me a warning box that says “MS WIN knows better which mouse you are using and will load the correct drivers.” and then refuses to let me change the buttons. It is scarry when the program starts telling me it knows better what I want than I do. Anyway I stuck with default. I watch all these postings, this one in particular, to see if I might find a way to convince Win98 to do things my way.

AskWoody LoungerTx that was a good one. I want to run a special in my store if you buy a book written by an author who’s birthday it is you get a discount. So I need to have a list to start the day. Also someplace to verify if someone tells me one I didn’t know. Most of the sites are heavy on music and theater people. EncyclopediaBritannica looks good too.

“written sheet with data” I keep mine in a speadsheet. My list soon got too big to search on paper and make changes all the time.

AskWoody LoungerSorry I don’t have an answer just a further question. My OE stationery shows up as an attachement. Lot of good that does!! Maybe your answer will fit my problem.

AskWoody LoungerCbarber tx. I will try that one. I have been using Excel and it took forever to get the spacing correct.
My printer doesn’t like small sizes of paper either. I made a carrier sheet. Use a standard (!) or what ever size sheet of paper with which your printer is happy or one just a grade heavier. I don’t know how they grade paper weight. I use snail mail spam for scratch paper and it comes in all sizes and colors . Any way make slits at the corners of where the check needs to be and insert check/deposit slip/sheets of sticky labels or what ever. Once in a while this hangs up or feeds crooked but I use it to print receipts for my customers all day long.
It really isn’t worth the trouble for checks but I have to justify having a computer and printer for the business somehow

AskWoody LoungerHey Legrange no cute pics or sigs here?
I mean the standard el-cheapo kind of checks you can buy thru the mail and take with you when you are out there spending money at the brick&mortor places. And maintain your check numbers. Not the expensive you must have computer three on a sheet checks that don’t travel well in your wallet.
I have messed with all the Q settings but none of them fit. Another case of “them” making more money by requiring a special product?
