The only place I can ever find deep fried ice cream is in Mexican Restraunts. They use some kind of honey dip which glazes in the heat. Super good.

Something I read recommeded against using vinegar or oil. I don’t remember why.

Now for those of you who have stuck with this thread

10 Cloves garlic
1/2 C honey
1 C margarine
1 C brown sugar
2 Eggs
2 1/2 C Flour
1 Tsp baking soda
1 Tsp Salt
2 Cchips (choclate/butterscotch)

Drop garlic cloves in boiling water boil 5mi (I don’t bother with this)
Peal chop and soak in honey 20min (dice very fine)

Cream marg/sugar/eggs/vanilla
Combine flour/bakingsoda/salt, Add to creamed and stir in chips
Drain garlic & add to batter (see note below)
Blend well
Drop by heaping tablespoon on ungreased baking sheet
Bake until browned at 375

Whats an oven? Isn’t that the space under the burners where I store all those pots and pans my Mom gave me that I never use?

Don’t ask me ask my cat. She is responsible for all dumb red head errors on the computer. Think maybe I will go fix that one. Tx for pointing it out.

Flavor better than tap water. Cheaper than juices and bottled water. I like the soda POP (carbonation?)

My doctor says no salt or caffeine, my dentist says no sugar, my nutritionist says no protein or carbohydrate. Sometimes i say stuff ’em all.

Two marshmllows with a chocolate chip between.

Tx am I ever glad to know I am a “real woman” on all counts.

• in reply to: MYOB or Quickbooks Pro? #612297

PeachTree was way too much overkill for me although if I remember correctly it is a true double entry system. MYOB didn’t have as convenient a tax prep program as QuickBooks. It has been a while since I tried MYOB they may have improved the tax schedule thing. Quicken is super easy to use but is getting to be a resource hog. And you have to buy special checks to write them with Quicken. Don’t know how that works in the other programs. I don’t use invoices or work orders or time sheets so I haven’t bothered with the full business package.

WyllyWylly am I reading this right? You are recommending getting your own domain and using it for storage? I know nothing about domains. Or webdrives.

As for “free” I tried to save some of the witty posts from the Lounge in a “free” storage site and they went pay so I couldn’t even pull my files without paying them.

Did you partition? When I upgraded I had problems with Win98 not being able to use or read or what ever it needs to do to use that big a disk. That might be related. The Tech partitioned the HD and now it seems to be OK. (Don’t ask me why he didn’t do that when he installed it in the first place.)

• in reply to: Wireless Optical Mouse #607468

OK TX MerC about the freezer part. I will move the batteries to the same shelf in the refrigerator as my candles and fingernail polish.. (Incidentally WyllyWylly anybody who knows me well enough to look in my refrigerator won’t be the least bit surprised.)

MerC I have to agree with WyllyWylly my Logitech trackball says
uses advanced optical marble technology
I hope that means there aren’t any of those little roller thingies inside to get dirty.

Your comment about the
permanent bright light on to the surface
was what I was thinking of when I asked about the mouse using more battery power. Maybe the trackball light only comes on when you move the ball? Anyway that is too technical for me. As long as I don’t have to take it apart to clean contacts that was what I was after when I purchased mine. That and being able to move it to the other side of the keyboard when ever.

• in reply to: Wireless Optical Mouse #607067

If you can find a place on your desk top that is 6-8 inches away from any electrical equipment you have a much bigger desk than I do. Although on MerC’s advise I have the receiver next to the monitor and it doesn’t seem to be causing any problems.

Keep your spare batteries in the freezer for longer life. Or is this another urban legend?

I wonder if the Mouse uses batteries more than the Trackball. I use my Logitech Trackball 12 hrs a day have had it two months and no problem. Guess I better go get a backup battery before I really do need it.

• in reply to: Softward for tracing IP? #605925

Zone Alarm PRO does all that automatically. It does cost US$50.00 but that includes all the other great firewall goodies.

• in reply to: ZoneAlarm 3.1 #603847

Thanks MerCurmudgeon You are right I did have to do some customizing to get a couple of my favorites to work properly with ZAPro. What I don’t understand is why this Lounge needs third party cookies.

I see some people mention slowing down because of some of these programs. I have noticed a considerable slow down since I got my new bigger faster computer but same 56k dial up. Would this possibly be from ZA or NoAds or AVG?

• in reply to: ZoneAlarm 3.1 #603613

I just paid for ZAPro. It includes e-mail virus scans and a place to block pop-up ads. I don’t know enough to know if this is adequate by itself.

It included a separate program called PEST PATROL which is supposed to scan your computer for trojans etc. Unfortunately this one sometimes causes my computer to freeze.

But what I really like is being able to trace down the attempts to access my computer. Why in the world would someone in SouthAfrica want to contact my computer? Now my curiosity wants to contact the dude to find out what is going on. Trouble is that would give him positive feedback on his access attempt and i don’t want to do that.

This is probably in ZA info somewhere but I am wondering what happens at the other end when ZA refuses a contact. Does it tell them “refused” “unavailable” “nosuch” or “dropdead”. How about a message saying “A second attempt to contact this computer will result in your system being fried?”
