      Thanks Jerry. The small triangle was hard to know to have anything with toolbars to do.

    • Thanks macropod!

      I was not aware of that. I will change the way I generate the code.

      Thanks a lot!

    • Hi,

      I have tried your suggestions but I cannot get it working.
      I get error message:
      !Syntaksfeil, {

      The original code is: { DOCPROPERTY RevisionNumber * MERGEFORMAT }

      The code giving error is: {={DOCPROPERTY RevisionNumber }+{IF{ DOCPROPERTY Rev }= Y 1 0 } * MERGEFORMAT }

      I have also trided with {={DOCPROPERTY “RevisionNumber” }+{IF{ DOCPROPERTY “Rev” }= “Y” 1 0 }}
      but I get the same Syntax error. (also using * MERGEFORMAT}

      So what can be wrong?

      I have attached a document with the code.

      Thanks

    • Thanks macropod,

      I will try this and see how it works out in some days.

      Thanks

    • Thanks macroprod.

      I will then use a macro to update the Fields.
      The only problem with having a macro in a document I send to a friend is that my friend will get the choice of accepting or not. Likely he will not accept, thinking it is dangerous. So how to overcome such a problem?

      Thanks

      Thanks ruirib

      I can neather create folders nor subfolders. Rightclicking a folder shows a menu where “Create subfolder” shows but I still get the message that the max folders/subfolders have been reached after naming a new one. So, may be I have to use Live Mail to be able to do so. It will be splendid how Outlook.com react on this. Hotmail also mooved the mails I mooved in Live Mail to the same folder in Hotmail. I think the two programs were syncronized.

      May be there will be a thread later covering Outlook.com. It is a Beta-issue so far, as I have heard.

      Thanks anyway for your answer.

    • in reply to: Outlook.com: At last, a worthy MS mail program #1348077

      I used Hotmail and was recommended by Microsoft to “convert” to Outlook.com. So I did; all my mails were trandsferred to Outlook.com, even my folders from Hotmail. But when I need to create a new folder in Outlook.com I get the message that I have reached the maximum of folders created by me. Even if I delete an existing folder I am not allowed to create a new one.
      The result is that my mails must be placed in a folder containing various type of cases…….,

      Q: how to be able to create a new folder?

      Windows Live Mail is much better; will this program also disappear?

      Thanks for a good answer

      Thanks Pam,
      I will go through your advise in a quiet time.
      The site you sent me to, http://www.shaunakelly.com/word, is a place where the descriptions of “how to do it” is very good; easy to understand. I will use this many times. The Word 2010 has a reconfigured menu and is difficult to guess where to find what compared to Word97

      Thanks again Pam

      Hi Pam,
      Adding some new discoveries to me;

      I found this article: http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/numbering20072010.html

      I also find the description very good indeed. It shows that the “Shaunakelly” site is very good and usefull.
      I hope I have found the way to set up my styles as a standard in my Word.

      Thanks Pam!

      Thanks Pam, very usefull.

      I have had a look into the articles and find them very usefull. Though this link did not work: the Word newsgroups (especially the Microsoft Word Numbering newsgroup) and from the MS Word MVP FAQ site. The contributions of John McGhie (especially his article about Word’s Numbering Explained on the MS Word MVP FAQ site) and Dave Rado are significant.

      I still have a problem with Headings or Styles; when I close the document and Word and the start Word again and open the document, the Change Styles/Chapter Setup is not checked. The problem turns up when I try to make a new document, then the numbering does not follow the Heading 1 (e.g. chapter 2) it follows only chapter 1; 1.1, 1.2 etc. even though it is under chapter 2.

      To make it follow I have to check the Chapter Setup under Change Styles.
      The styles and headings I made yesterday works OK, but adding a new Heading 5 it did not work unless I have checked the Chapter Setup under Change Styles.
      It looks to me that the Chapter Setup under Change Styles must be set for each new word section and not beeing standard when making new headings.
      Also if I check the Chapter Setup under Change Style the headings from yesterday changed. I am quite sure that it should not be like this. But it must be some settings I have missed out. (I have not worked with Word 2010 for a long time, only Word 97).

      Are there any article telling about how to set standard settings in Word?

      Hi,

      Marvelous: I found the answer myself!!

      One have to open “Change Styles” under “Home”; the select “Style Sets” and choose “Chapter setup”.

      I could not find any Help in Word or Office for this type of setting for Style and Headings. Realy bad, don’t you think?

      PS
      The names of the categories I have used may not be the exact names in English.

    • in reply to: How to make Wrd 2003 dot-files work in Wrd 2007 #1193237

      The default location for user templates is C:Documents and SettingsApplication DataMicrosoftTemplates under Windows XP, and C:UsersAppDataRoamingMicrosoftTemplates under Windows Vista (and presumably Windows 7). Application Data/AppData is a hidden folder, so you need to display hidden files and folders in order to see it.

      You can view and change the path of the user templates folder as follows in Word 2007:
      – Click the Microsoft Office Button.
      – Click Word Options.
      – Click Advanced.
      – Under General, click File Locations.
      – Click User templates.
      – If you want to change it, click Modify.

      You have to add this location to your trusted locations, otherwise macros will be disabled. See Create, remove, or change a trusted location for your files.

      Thanks a lot, I will look into this and copy my templates to the apprpriate places.

      PS
      Congratulations with the new site, it looks very good.

      I have retired by now and will not be as bussy as I was some years ago. Though it is very good to have such a place to be able to solve problems.

    • in reply to: How to make Wrd 2003 dot-files work in Wrd 2007 #1193135

      In what sense don’t they work?
      – Word can’t find them.
      – Word displays an error message when you try to use them.
      – …

      Well, I just dobbelklicked a template and it just opened as Document1. No macros worked, no error message.

      I am uncertain where to place the templates (dot-files). The Menu-structure is extremely different from how it was under XP. So I haven’t found where to place them yet.
      May be that is my problem.

      OK
      I have to dig into the Help files to find my way through. Then I have to use some time find out how Word should be set up to handle macros/templates.

      Anyway, Thanks Hans

      Thanks a lot Hans,

      Your solution worked excellent. I only had to make a new Header and Footer.

      Thanks
