      Sorry about that. doh

The original message didn’t mention that the DL was on an incoming message, so I assumed (wrongly) that we were talking about a DL already within your Contacts area.

Try either of Beckie or Matt’s suggestions. They should help you to solve your problem.

      Cheers,

You should be able to just right-click on the distribution list entry and select print from the menu list. This should produce a printout which lists the name of the DL and then lists each of the members and their email addresses.

      Hope this helps.

No problems Geoff. Thanks very much for the advice and the changes to the SpellCheck macro, I have put them in place and they are working fine.

      Cheers cheers

Spot on Klaus, nice catch bravo. Obviously didn’t have the thinking cap on very well when I was looking at this last time.

On reflection, quite a few programs actually consider percentage to be as a portion of 1. Therefore 0.5 is considered to relate to 50%.

      Well done. cheers

I am afraid nothing has changed in Word 2002 as far as this behaviour is concerned.

Still getting exactly the same thing occurring. shrug

      Hi Julio,

Glad that has sorted out your problem.

I am currently working with Office XP so I did not get a chance to try it out on Word 2000 for myself. The information I had on that switch was very vague in how it would operate, and only stated that it would open it in a new window. Unfortunately, it did not state whether this would be a Word window or an IE window, so I couldn’t give you that info.

Anyway, good to see that it has given you some assistance.

      Cheers, cheers

      Hi Melissa,

I think where the difference lies is that they are trying to get the print to happen automatically by the use of a rule, setup within the Rules Wizard. This option is not available within Outlook 2000 or earlier versions.

Silverback is quite correct though, there is an option in the print setup dialogue box which allows you to print attachments with the emails, and this can be set as default. With this set, whether you print via the print button, the file menu, or the right mouse click, the attachments will still print with your email.

Unfortunately as the option to print is not within the Rules Wizard, none of these is of any use to Elcid in solving his problem. Thankfully, this is one feature that has been added to Outlook 2002.

By the way, good to talk to a fellow West Australian on the Lounge. thumbup

      Hi Julio,

Not sure about forcing a hyperlink to open in IE, but you can at least force it to open in a new page by default. If you right click on the hyperlink and select Toggle Field Codes, the actual field will be displayed. If you add the /n (forward slash + n) switch to the end of the code and then right click and select Update Field Codes, the hyperlink should now open in a new page, leaving your original document displaying in it’s own page.

      Hope this helps.

    • in reply to: Turn off Reminders in Outlook (2000) #553064

      Hi Allen,

Not sure whether this one turns off all reminders, but it is probably a good place for you to start.

Go to ToolsOptionsOther tab – Advanced Options button – Reminder Options button – untick the two checkboxes for displaying a reminder and playing sound.

This should at least get rid of some of them displaying for you. crossfingers

hmmn missed that one as I was running through it.

Thanks for checking it out and passing it on MaryJ. Why is it that nothing is ever done the simple way for users? You try to find something that is simple and foolproof for users and then find out that it is not as simple for them as you hoped sigh.

That’s life I guess. Anyway, nothing is ever foolproof, because fools are so ingenious grin.

      Cheers,

No help for you I am afraid Karnie, but I will be very interested in a any replies. I have been playing around with WorldMerge for a couple of days and I can get it to merge from the Global Address List quite easily, but have not yet figured out how to get it to see my Contact folder. I thought it might have been within a PST file, but that does not seem to work either.

      Looking forward to any replies.

    • in reply to: email Font (MS OFFICE 2000) #551858

When you are within Outlook itself (not Word), go to the Tools menu and select Options. On the Options dialogue box, select the Mail Format tab and click on the Fonts button. This will give you some options of what fonts you want to use for sending emails. The font you set here should be used whether you are using Outlook or Word as your email editor.

      Hope this helps,

    • in reply to: Distribution list display (2000 SR-2) #551856

Egghead is spot on with this one Chris. Only distribution lists that are created and managed on Exchange servers are delivered to addressees with just the distribution list name. Any that you create personally within Outlook are broken down to the individual email addresses contained within them.

To get around this, as egghead says, just use the BCC field instead of the TO field to put the distribution list name into. That way the addressees will not get a huge list of everyone that the email has gone to.

      Cheers,

The function provided by is also available from the Tools menu (Check Names option) or as a button on your Standard Toolbar (a head with a red tick next to it). Use either of these if you don’t like keyboard shortcuts. Any of these three methods should bring up a dialogue box to get you to chose the correct email address to send the email to.

      Hope this helps.

      Hi Elcid,

As Leif and Becky have said, Outlook 2000 will not print email attachments automatically shrug. On the print dialogue box there is an option to print attachments when you print the email, but I don’t believe that this is turned on by default. So without doing a little bit of coding somewhere along the line, you are probably better off with caprint to take care of your needs.

      Cheers,
