      Hi Mark,

I have W2K and IE6 but the following should work in IE5 as well.

Open the Favorites menu in IE and move the mouse down to the favorite that you want to create a shortcut for. Right click on the item in the menu and then from the pop-up menu select “Send To” and then “Desktop (create shortcut)”.

This neatly creates a shortcut to the URL on your desktop.

Let me know how you go.

      Cheers,

    • in reply to: Moving AOL favorites (IE 6) #729507

      Hi Bruce,

Does the Import/Export feature do what you need. If you go to File > Import and Export, a wizard opens up. Click on Next and then select “Import Favorites” from the list and click on Next again. Under “Import from an Application”, is AOL listed? If so, you could probably just follow the wizard prompts from there to bring your favourites into IE.

      Hope this helps.

    • in reply to: Setting default reply account (Outlook 2002 SR2) #729483

      Hi John,

It should be as simple as going to Tools > Email Accounts, then select “View or Change Existing Email Accounts” and click on next. From the list of accounts given, select the one that you want as the default and then click on the “Set As Default Button”. This should set this account as the default for any replies that you send out.

However from what you are saying, you have already selected your default account and any replies you send are not using this default. Is this correct?

      Cheers,

    • in reply to: Outlook 2002 less reliable than previous versions? (SP2) #726384

      Hi Granville,

I am not sure if this is the cause for you not seeing the envelope icon in your system tray or not, but Outlook 2002 introduced a new feature that can cause this. If you go to Tools>Options, then on the Preferences tab click on the Email Options button and then the Advanced Email Options button there is a section around the middle of the window with options for when new mail arrives. You can select whether or not to show the envelope in the system tray. If yours is not showing up you may have that setting unchecked.

      Cheers,

      Hi Jon,

I found through experience when doing several rollout’s of Outlook that the order you load the items when setting up Outlook on a PC will determine where your contacts are in the list. If, when first setting up Outlook, you load the Exchange Server first and then the Outlook Address Book after that, your contacts will appear at the bottom of the list. If you load your Outlook Address Book first and then your Exchange Server, your contacts will be at the top of the list.

I have no idea why it works like this and it took quite a while to figure out that the order of setting them up was responsible for where they appeared on the list.

      Hope this helps.

      Hi Phil,

yep, Hans is quite correct, I did mean a 2 column/1 row table (it was getting late in the day for me at the time as well yawn ).

As Hans noted, you still don’t get the option of upside down text in 2002, but I think that Sherri should be able to do what she needs to do with either Word 2000 or 2002.

Thanks for pointing out the error thumbup . Like I said, it was getting late in the day.

      Cheers,

      Hi Sherri,

Not sure if this is what you are after or not.

      1. Create a one column/two row table.
      2. Type your required information in each of the cells.
      3. Right click in the left cell and select “text direction” from the menu
      4. Select the appropriate orientation from the three provided.
      5. Do the same for the right cell of your table.

This worked for me in Word XP on my machine so I should think that you will have the same options available to you.

      Cheers,
