      A hyperlink will be on a webpage.

      What is a custom dialog box (aka userform)?

      Thanks!! Should I get the rotation handle when I insert WordArt into Word? I’m not. Also, shouldn’t this still work on a 3W x1H label?

      With the nz Function I am ending up with:

      Role1&&&&
      Role1&Role2&&&

      Because this information will become a part of a User File Import I do need the exact format when there are multiple roles w/o spaces: Role1&Role2

      WIth John’s response I get the closest to what I need however don’t need the & at the end when there are multiple roles:

      Role1
      Role1&Role2&

      How do I element the final & when there are multiple roles?

      I have also been bitten. I used the free SUPERAntiSpyware and it seem to work well in getting rid of the infections however now I am having difficulties in communicating w/ devices, downloading, opening applications. I came to the conclusion to re-install Windows XP Home edition HOWEVER Winddows XP Home edition came pre-installed on my computer and I never requested the actual CD before the warranty period expired. Is there such a thing as a free version available for download?

      Thanks for both suggestions. I haven’t tried the StrConv function yet however will keep in my trouble shooting folder. Addressing the MERGE fields in Word works beautifully.

      I don’t think the old form controls can monitor keystrokes. Maybe one of the ActiveX controls in the Control Toolbox can do that?

      In Design mode? Maybe if you exit Design mode on the Control Toolbox toolbar before saving.

      Design mode? Control Toolbox toolbar? Are these features in 2003 or 2007?

      Attached is sample dbase and excel file.

    • in reply to: Import Data from Excel #1175527

      Each month I download a monthly statement from a vendor’s website into an Excel spreadsheet containing a minimum of 400 lines of data that I will authorize for payment however over the next several months a different payment source may come about and I will then provide into to the vendor to bill the other payment source and to credit me back for payment previously made. So, I need to keep looking at the prior monthly statements until I consider each resolved which may take several months.
      Currently, I have 6 active spreadsheets w/ unresolved items. I’m getting a bit dizzy look at teach spreadsheet to research if any other payment source has come about. I think importing each month’s Excel spreadsheet into one comprehensive access database would work better for me.
      The column heading in red is what is downloaded from the vendor’s site. The green column headings are added by me after download.
      Attached is the making of a sample database that I think will work for me. However, I’m unsure of how much work I have to do to the Excel spreadsheet before I can import additional information into the database.
      1. Appending each month’s subsequent client services into tblClientService
      2. How to extract the new unique ACCNs from the spreadsheet and append them to tblACCN
      3. Avoid type conversion failure errors involving the DOS and Inv Date fields. The problem seems to involve these date’s format/separator (- vs /). When I changed the – to / then clicked out of the cell the dates adjusted. Id did this for rows 1-19 which is why rows 1-19 do not show up on the import error table. However I can’t do this each month for 400+ lines of information.
      Any suggestions appreciated.

      The first data record (row with data) in the worksheet DID/DOES contain a valid date.

    • in reply to: #Error in Future Date Field #1172535

      What is the expression you use to calculate the future date?

      =DateSerial(Year([LastReviewDate]),Month([LastReviewDate])+12,Day([LastReviewDat
      e]))

    • in reply to: Access and Append #1168442

      Now that I know how many duplicates of an ACCN there are how do I easily delete the dups leaving only one of each ACCN? Is there a way to let access do the work vs me deleting them individually?

    • in reply to: Access and Append #1168200

      Each month there will be multiple repeated ACCN per bill. Do I need to run a Find Duplicate Query on the ACCN and delete all but one of the ACCN occurences?

    • in reply to: Character Mapping Symbols #1154664

      You can’t create your own symbols.

      I don’t think there is a “c overbar” character. You can simulate it somewhat by using Unicode character 0305 – the “combining overline” character – followed by the character over which you want an overbar.
      The character can be found by selecting the Arial MS Unicode font in the Character Map accessory and scrolling down to the typographic character section.

      With the private character editor I was able to create this however need to work on the font.

    • in reply to: Merge Word Document and Insert Word Field #1151404

      The easiest solution is to create a query in Access with a field like this:

      ThePhone: Nz([Phone2],”Did not provide alternate info”)

      and use the query as data source.

      Another solution would be a field in Word of the form

      { IF { MERGEFIELD “Phone2” } = “” “Did not provide alternate info” “{MERGEFIELD “Phone2″ }” }

      Remember, never type the field braces { } yourself, press Ctrl+F9 to insert them.

      Thanks!!! I was using Phone2 insteadof “Phone2”.
