AskWoody LoungerUnfortunately the PC I was working from will not open another window from a link so I could not get to the “1-Click TagPanel”.
A failed attempt by IS to block the internet on that machine I think.
I have gotten so used to using the tag panel that I could not work out how to activate the link with out it

AskWoody LoungerSorry
Adding GetMod:Left([ConstUnit], InStr([ConstUnit], ” – “) – 1) to a field in the query grid will create you a new column called “GetMod” when you run the qyery

AskWoody LoungerYou do need the Update Query.
Once you select the “Update query” from the “Query” menubar, Access will add an extra row called “Update To” in the query grid.
In the grid add the PID field plus the rest of the fields that you want to update from tblStudents.
In the “Update To” box under each field that you wish to update add the table/field name that you are getting the data from Ie. [newTable]![SSN].
When you click the Run button this will then update your records.Hope that makes sense!
It would be a good idea to back up your data first just in case!!

AskWoody LoungerNot a very nice piece of code either LOL

AskWoody LoungerBuilding on Toms approach you could use a custom function in the query behind the form to create a new column which just shows the dates once and display this column in the Form. The code for the module would be something like,
Function CheckDate(dDate As Date) As Variant
Static lastDate As Date
If dDate lastDate Then CheckDate = dDate
lastDate = dDate
End FunctionIn the Query you would use “ShowDate: checkdate([Mydate])” in a new column to create the new field for your form.
However with this approach if anyone sorts the data in the form you are going to get some screwy results!!

AskWoody LoungerA blank form usual indicates that there is no Data for it to display. Check that your record source is returning data.

AskWoody LoungerA function to add a 0 to your ID would be something like
newid: Right(“0” & [PID],5)
If you have your levels in a filed you could just concatonate them on as well. This could be done on the fly when you need the levels rather than storing them.
Hope this helps
