It actually won’t work that way…

I have 600 rows of data. Someone went through and color coded the items based on whether it was pending, completed or in process. No where on any row is this information! So I either have to type the info in myself (which I don’t want to do) or find a way to do if statements based on color!

Now I’ve learned two things today!

Hi Gary,

Actually the 3 clicks I am referring to are:

Right click on worksheet object
Click ‘Worksheet’ (or something like that)
Click ‘Open Worksheet object’

I’ts actually only 2 clicks in 97, but 3 in 2000

I do not do any excel editing in edit mode because inadvertantly that always seems to somehow or another screw up my fonts… I always (yes always) ‘open worksheet object’…

Thanks for your help into this though.. I’ve looked at the other posts and it looks like I am out of luck..

Wow.. That totally worked.

I had done the problem with 2 IF statements in different columns and then concatenated them together..

I just tested your formula against it and I got the exact same things..

I’ve never used the FIND statement.. Think I’ll have to look into that.

BUT….. I’d still like to know the proper syntax for a IF/OR statement

It is possible for the combination to equal CF00 or FCFC (there are only 3 items that the cell can be C, F or 0) but we only need to take into account the items I mentioned..

While creating presentations (printed or on-screen) I would like to try and find a shortcut for working on my excel spreadsheets which are in my powerpoint presentations.

Rather than having to click three times (in ppt 2000) to ‘open worksheet object’ I would like to select the worksheet object and then have a keyboard shortcut to ‘open worksheet object’ so that I may make whatever changes I need to make.

I think the key point here is that I am looking for a shortcut while I am creating the presentation, not while presenting the presentation…

What I am attempting to do is to find a shortcut to ‘Open Worksheet Object’ while creating a presentation.

So while I am creating the presentation I can just select the worksheet object and type the shortcut.

These presentations are actually never ran on the computer, just printed out…

Most of our powerpoint presentations aren’t presentations, but printed out pages of financial info. So I mainly use excel spreadsheets in my ppts. I am constantly right clicking and then choosing ‘Open Worksheet Object’.

OK.. Nothing like finding the answer to my own problem 2 seconds after I post…

Answer:

Spreadsheet was still there… The red x just freaked me out I just had to do the normal open or edit worksheet object to see it.. Then I just copied the data, deleted the red x and inserted a new worksheet and pasted the data….

But I am still curious about why the X occured in the first place..
