Looking for option in account settings but come up empty. What am I doing wrong?

Hah! Answer is GodMode: Create new folder, name it “GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}” (no quotes).

Easy enough to just hide the icon if you don’t like it.

How to accomplish this? Takes up needed space. I saw KB3035583; is it necessary to remove the upgrade, and if so will that also cancel the upgrade I reserved?

Thanks, folks, but maybe I wasn’t clear. I know how to decrapify and clean out start-ups, and I run Glary and CCleaner at least four times a week. My concern is the necessary garbage that all these apps seem to require in order to work correctly, like the Acrobat and the Office365 and the QuickBooks stuff I mentioned. Is there some way to manage it so there’s not so much overhead sapping the cycles? Maybe set up a username to work only with QuickBooks and every other non-related executable is turned off, including Windows Defender? Then another username for working exclusively with Dragon (processor intensive)? Still another to go online? Or is the answer simply to give up on Windows?

      Why Hyper-V? (Utterly ignorant here.)

Thank you Paul and Andrew! May I confirm my understanding, please?

The static text exists elsewhere in the document; I understand it’s simply a matter of assigning a distinct style to the static text, which will cause the TOC to pull it into the TOC.

This looks promising. Thank you, Joe!

Thanks for the pointer Joe but the information in the link is mystifying to me. I don’t show an option “‘purge mail when switching folders online,” which appeared to be th solution for the correspondent. Is this option somewhere else in Outlook 2010 apart from AutoArchive? Also, I don’t understand what you mean by, “Autoarchive bases its decisions on date last updated which is not exposed in the UI.”

      Sorry for being dense.

What I forgot was to initialize the new SSD. D’oh!

Your direction to the BIOS is what got me there, when I noticed the drive was showing even though it had not appeared in Windows Explorer. Thank you, F.U.N.

Update: with help from someone with greater tech knowledge than me and a couple hours’ troubleshooting, ended up reflashing the BIOS, which got us the keyboard and mouse back. This allowed us to get to the repair console and machine going again. And I’ll shift to imaging strategy described by Medico.

Would it not be reasonable to expect CCleaner to remove the old entries, thus avoiding the problem?

I use CCleaner and then immediately run Glary Utilities, which always identifies a ton of stuff in the registry that CCleaner does not.

Thanks for the link to VG. Seems to be working. Using a mouse rather than the track pad also appears likely.
