I will take a new look on my friends laptop 12 Mars, and do a search on it based on the knowledge from thread following post 83329. There may be a conflict between versions; O2000 premium was installed after O2000 pro.

I will then come back and either ask for new help or report the result.

      Regards,

    • Is there any other possible cause?

Any difference between the options during install “run from computer” and “run everything from computer”?

    • Thanks for reply

Yes, the installer has been run and not been aborted.

Also as I understand it now, the OS was reinstalled on the computer when the “old version” of Office 2000 was there. This resulted in not being able to run any Office program. The files where on the computer, but not being able to execute.

Then, as I described, he installed Office 2000 recently, and the Installer starts up.

I have not seen anything of the Installer on my machine (WinXP/Office2000), configuration etc. apart from when I choose to add something to the Office installation or with the obnoxious “on first run”. Then it works OK.

      Regards.

It seems like something happened to my standard XP theme. If I choose the tab next to screensaver (under Display), appearance? I have a non english OS, and changes from Windows XP to Windows classic and then back again it seems to correct the problem I mentioned earlier. But then this makes a change in theme, ie I have the possibility to save my change (just updated appearance) under a new theme name. That is OK and it seems to work. But the standard XP theme still have the problem with menu colour.

If I save any changes to a theme there will be a file created. Is there any possibility to reinstall just Windows standard themes?

Well, when I unfold(?) the drop down list it is white, and should be so (with XP theme). This is because it is the selected item on the menu. The menu itself with no item selected is some kind of beige colour. When I click on a menu item it changes colour to white as it is suposed to do, but when I scroll through other menu items they all change to white and they stay white, do not return to beige colour (not selected item). As I mentioned before it does not occur in IE 6.
