Thanks for your interest. I have proceeded to change the Normal cell style, and have also killed other unwanted styles with a VBA routine as you suggested. If anyone comes across a cause for this problem, it would be appreciated if they could advise, so it can be avoided. Thanks again.

I’ve done a little more looking, and I’ve come across references to similar problems. What I see is that the Normal cell style has been changed to the Swedish currency, and this format is then picked up by all cells that have not been explicitly formatted. Now, what I don’t know is how/what caused the Normal cell style change. I’m confident that this change wasn’t done by either myself or any other user. And further, there is a custom number format for Swedish currency which is now listed as a custom format – not a format that I created.

      Thanks, just what I needed.

I have a pre-defined data range in Excel (e.g., 10 rows) that is populated from an external query. Once this data is refreshed, I would like to effect a descending sort on the data (to a second pre-defind 10-row range) based on the data’s numeric values.

I don’t know how to do this in an XY scatter chart.

The attached workbook was created from Funchrt5.xls by Stephen Bullen, available from Office Automation Ltd. – Stephen Bullen’s Excel Page.

It uses named ranges to define the data for an area chart.

This chart does exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for the resource link.

The rectangles would overlap. How would you want to handle that?

I’ve manually drawn in the fill areas on the attached file. Only the incremental NPV would be displayed as the fill area.

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this. Amazing!

This formula works beautifully … but I’m not sure I understand why. Would you be able to break it down, so mere mortals like myself can understand step by step. Thanks.

Thanks very much. That’s exactly what I was looking for.

Within one worksheet, I have set up 50-row blocks to contain data related to a single item (60 columns (years) wide). There are 25-30 items within the worksheet. At the bottom of the worksheet, I want a total, for example, for all of the 3rd rows within each 50-row block.

Thank you. I haven’t used any VBA code with Word before. How do I get the file to work as an add-in?

    • in reply to: Text Import Wizard (Access 97 SR2) #574112

Thanks for your patience. Your suggestion works fine.

    • in reply to: Text Import Wizard (Access 97 SR2) #574106

Yes. I’m using the Test Import Wizard, with field names and field types defined as a spec. When I get through the various screens on the wizard, I respond yes in response to the prompt, “OK to overwrite existing table?”. The text fields are all re-set to 255 characters. I am just looking to repopulate an existing table with a new CSV file.

    • in reply to: Text Import Wizard (Access 97 SR2) #574087

I do have the table predefined. What I would like to do is preserve the text field definitions that already exist. Again, any help would be appreciated.

      I’m using a CSV file.
