Hi! Joyce,

My experience:

I used FireFox 3.6.14 with just the regular Adobe PDF (updated) Reader and it took twenty eight minutes (28″).

I stopped it several times and when it restarted it did restart from the beginning.

I am now trying it with IE8, and was able to stop and restart several times, and the download picked up from where it left off.

The only way I was able to restart it was by clicking on the light colored page down arrow.

The download itself is huge 95.75 MB so it will take some time as we are on 1MB down service. My only suggestion would be to try when you feel internet traffic is slow for your area. you know how it can get when WindowSSecrets makes a free offering!
Your timeouts could be attributed to busy traffic on your ISP.

Well my IE8 DL’d is almost done, and it came to twenty-Two minutes (22″)

Found this:

Sometimes, device filters installed by other software can conflict with iTunes for Windows. This can cause issues like these:

[*]iTunes does not detect any supported CD burners.
[*]iTunes does not recognize audio CDs.
[*]Windows does not recognize audio CDs after installing iTunes.
[*]You receive error messages while attempting to burn discs.
[*]

You are presented with this message even after reinstalling iTunes:
Warning! The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs & DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes.” Device filter entries exist to somehow modify the way a device works. If you are having trouble using CDs, follow these steps to temporarily disable the other third-party optical drive software entries.
[*]
Important: These steps involve making changes to the Windows registry using the Registry Editor (Regedit). Even if you are very comfortable editing the registry, you should make a backup of the registry prior to editing it. Making mistakes in Regedit can cause strange behavior and can even prevent Windows from starting. The changes may cause the software that installed the entries to not work correctly until you restore the entries. If you need more help, you may perform a search on “backup registry” in Windows Help.
Are you using wireless? If so try wired connection to internet.

Unplug Modem for 10″ or so to reset.

Safe mode with Internet connection.

If you can, download this PhotoRec, and burn it from a different machine and run it on yours. It has a better success rate than Recuva. Will do Files and Photos.

Here is what I had to do: Post #12 Adobe Flash won’t install on IE8 32bit Ted is correct when he says you use 32bit flash for the 32bit browsers, and 64bit for the 64bit browsers.

Both sites; Filhippo, and Zeporama worked very well.

Although I was overzealous in my description of the tutorial and its installation of plug-ins, I had hoped the OP would have realized this and disregarded the extra insight a video prompt usually supplies.

I feel the sevenforums site is more comprehensive in its explanation.

You were astute to warn seve to not install anything.

Hi! seve, and jscher2000,

seve, this may be the tutorial you are looking for:
How to Restore Files and Folders in Windows 7 with Previous Versions From sevenforums.

There are two Microsoft Videos in the tutorial that require WMP11, if you do not have it just click on the yellow drop-down-install-missing-plug-ins bar to start the process for installation.
It will say it can not find it and you will need to install it manually.

Click on Manual install, and you will be re-directed to Port25 an Open Source Community at MS that has the WMP11Player.

This is the Recover Lost or Deleted Files Windows Site, but it will still require you to install WMP11 if you do not have it, and are running FireFox. But, I feel the sevenforums site is more comprehensive in its explanation.

Please take note of the info, tips, and warning boxes at he beginning, and the notes, and warnings though out the three options.

Regards….Anak….7F, and WSL

This may be a little late if you have already tried the Repair Install, but you might have a corrupted User account. You could try creating a new one set to your preferences, and if that would work okay then delete the the one you are having problems with.

• in reply to: Win7 said Java didn’t install correctly #1268905

Hi! everyone,

I am also a member of Windows SevenForums, and in researching to see if anyone else had this problem I came across this thread started by MKR.

My solution followed a different path. After several tries with no success I located the Installer file on my system at C:Users******AppDataLocalLowSunJava, and left clicked directly on the file.

Within a few minutes I had 6.24 installed and verified.
I have not found yet, what difference it would make to start with a file within the downloaded Folder instead of the folder itself.

If any one would like to see my post it is located here
