Edited by HansV to make URL clickable – see Help 19

One additional problem. I used the VBA Controls Assistant (http://officeone.mvps.org/ppvba/ppvba_using.html%5B/url%5D) to populat eht combBox’s, but when I ship the presentation to someone else, the comboBox’s are no longer populated.

Can someone tell me what I have missed in trying to ship this off to someone else from my machine? I can not enclose my presentation it is apparently too big. There is code for a “Submit” button click, but nothing else. I have no idea where the ComboBox values are being stored..

      Thanks,

      Andy

Did some further research and found the following that the thing that was preventing the VBA app from running on other machines was security settings. All I had to do was to go to Tools, Macro, Security and set it to Medium. Then I had to check, Trusted Publishers, “Trust access to visual basic projects”.

      Thanks for the help

Finally got to check this on one of the machines, and no I do not see any missing lines under Tools | References…

I will try and get on some other machines to see if there are any others where my routine works 😉

      Thanks,

      Andy

I will check on my home machine tonight and will get on the other machine as soon as that guy gets in (a few hours from now).

So how do I resolve the issue if say the MS Scripting Runtime is not located at c:WINDOWSSystem32scrrun.dll?

      Thanks,

      Andy

      Hans,

Sorry, brain failed during my post 😉 I was typing the line that said that it writes the text file and clears the form components. My brain failed when I was supposed to add “, and on the other machines it does not do this”, to the line that said what it does. So the program does not clear the form component values, nor does it write/creat (the first time) the text file.

On the MS Scripting runtime, all I did was make sure that the reference was set. What else do I need to do to make sure they are valid?

As far as using PowerPoint, it does not matter where I get this done. PowerPoint was just an available route that I took.

      Thanks,

      Andy

    • in reply to: Text in Freeze Pane (Excel 2003) #1009145

Thanks Hans, I simply want to have the text value in column A show up in A6 as the user scrolls the text value above the freeze pane. then when the next comes up from the bottom or back down from the top, A6 would change accordingly.

      Thanks again,

      Andy

Do you have any sources for more information on simple tasks like this with Excel, and maybe some more advanced stuff?

      Thanks,

    • in reply to: Outlook Views (Outlook 2003) #951712

      Hello,

Recently I have had to create several installations of Outlook and I have one pain point in particular that I would like to know how to work around it. I have a specific view that I like to create. I can store this view and make it available for all folders in my installation, but I can not figure out how to make that view active for all the folders (i.e., change all folders to have the same customized view).

I can use “Tools; Organize; Using Views…”, or I can use “View; Current View”. It would be easier to select the view for a group of folders.

Also, how do I save changes to the current view, and have those changes reflected in all other folders that use the same view?

      Thanks,

      Andy
