Thank you to all who responded! I think the install just took much longer than I thought it would, but I now have Win 10 22H2 installed.

I tried the WUB/InControl combo and that didn’t work either. I’m guessing some registry setting somewhere is preventing the update from happening.

21H2 not found in the HKEY\CURRENTUSER subtree. Lots of occurrences found in HKEY\localmachine.

      Problem not yet solved.

Thanks — I’ll try one of those.

Yes, and that’s where the button exists that says “I use this account for personal use”, which button press requires a “super administrator account” which I don’t know that I have, or if I do, I have no idea what it is.  Talk about “a maze of twisty little passages, all different!”  Anyway thanks — I had already read that article multiple times.

As I said, clicking on the leftmost button (whatever its label) worked for me.I know it’s counterintuitive, but so is labeling a button “Uninstall” that does no such thing.  If you’re hesitant about using counterintuitive processes, then by all means keep looking for alternatives!

I was told to uncheck all the checkboxes on the config screen, then click “Install” or whatever the leftmost button was named.  That supposedly uninstalled all those items.  I then deleted all the folders in ProgramFiles that contained all the junk.  That seems to have worked for me, but I agree wholeheartedly with you that recommended software should have a simple and straightforward uninstall process!

Perhaps before “certifying” the software on their site, OlderGeeks might consider ensuring the software has a simple and straightforward built-in Uninstall mechanism.  Or at least a documented procedure (as provided by k6jav) that works!

Wrong!  When you click that button it tells you it will remove all “settings”, but no software will be deleted!

    • in reply to: Freeware Spotlight — Autorun Organizer #2409272

Autorun Organizer doesn’t make any suggestions about how to optimize startup time.   For the last 5 days mine has varied thus: 89 sec., 767, 141, 1166 (NOT a typo!), 286.   I feel like I’m just making random guesses about what to change and by how much.  Also, I had Backblaze delayed for 300 sec., but my network meter and Task Manager showed it was active way before that!  I wish Autorun Organizer would make suggestions, and also make it easier to roll back changes.  The “Undo Changes Center” doesn’t keep track of all changes on a trial by trial basis, so it’s not granular enough to be useful.
