I now have a Terramaster F2-422 and all is fine good setup and quiet fan.

One problem I am trying to back up the system to an external USB drive using their USB copy app but it starts then the drives stop and the USB drive lights out.

Any ideas anyone?

Have checked netgear website no mention of access control problems.

Also can you map the network shares using net use in Windows or do you need to use their software?

I am looking at trying a ds720+ does anybody else have one of these and are they reasonably quiet?

As far as I’m aware, with Windows 11 you need a Microsoft account for the home edition, but can use local accounts on the Pro version?

I had a RAX40 previously which I had to return as when I setup Access Control, my PC on a a wired connection kept getting locked out of the router when it was rebooted or switched off and on for some reason.

If you could confirm the RAX70 doesn’t do this it would be appreciated.

Unfortunately not, as the fan noise started as soon as I started to setup the NAS.

Do you know of any NAS’s out there that are quiet as I desperately need to purchase a new one.

I am looking to try another Synology NAS but am still concerned about the fan noise.

Could anybody recommend a NAS that has a quietish fan as the unit would be left on 24 hours.

Do anybody know if the DS720 fan is quiet?
