AskWoody PlusHi – I tried the toolbox and can’t seem to get it to work. Many of the tools provide an error message indicating the app isn’t downloaded or in the repair tool folder in My Documents. Running Windows 10 Pro on a Dell XPS 8940.
Thanks!

AskWoody PlusVery nice first edition. I agree with above comments. I’m wondering how it will be determined what articles appear in the free newsletter? Will they be, as in the current newsletter, articles from previous Plus newsletters?

AskWoody PlusWhat’s the consensus on drive imaging / cloning software? I didn’t see it mentioned.

AskWoody PlusHi Fred
When I attempted to run the directions you posted for Windows 8.1 I received the error message that files required to make the drive were missing. It was recommended I use the Windows 8 disk to recover my system.
Since I had already made a USB backup some time ago, in addition to weekly images, I felt ok. I would offer the following links for viewer’s who like me may need an alternate path.

As always, great column.

AskWoody PlusAn additional complication may come from attempting an in-place upgrade particularly if he is getting a “windows is not genuine” message. In that case, an in-place upgrade won’t work. This happened to me just recently when some software I was attempting to install and uninstall broke the WGA. After a re-boot Windows reported I was running a non-genuine version.

AskWoody PlusWith respect to the enlarging fonts in Outlook, the user might find some relief, at least with respect to reading plain text messages by increasing the font size in Stationary and Fonts. This isn’t the perfect remedy but it will help somewhat.
