I can’t understand why pop3 emails are nowhere to be found on your computer.
Maybe try searching your whole computer for “Windows Mail” folder and for *.eml files.
Not sure if those are hidden files or not, maybe tell File Explorer to temporarily show hidden files before you search.

I am wondering if your emails are really IMAP, which would explain why they are not stored anywhere on your device.

In the past, if you deleted a message on your computer, did it automatically get deleted from your phone or other devices?

b- My email account is a non-Microsoft POP3 account set up to retain a copy of every email on my email provider’s server. As you suggested, maybe the export software in Microsoft Mail does not consider my emails to be “local” because they are also on that server.

1. have you already configured Outlook (new) for your email account and does it show any emails in the Inbox?
2. Are you able to log into your email account via a browser and see that the emails are still there?
3. Have you looked in the default location DrCard mentioned above C:\User\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail to see what is in there?

When I’ve been unable to delete files, I boot with a Linux boot drive and delete it from within Linux.

Linux Mint very easy to use

I did it with a .bat file that I got from 11Forums. You can search for “Add or Remove Copilot and “Find results in Web” in Windows Search in Windows 11 “

• I have found that in Outlook 365 if I click on “Forward” then in that window I can resize the overly large images so I can read the message.

Dana,

Is the purpose of the key created in your previous post to stop the “try the New Outlook” toggle from appearing? or will it also stop MS from switching you to the new Outlook without permission?

Thanks

I’d suggest to delete the account from Outlook and reinstall. But choose Advanced Options/Let me set up my account manually see screenshots

and choose Outlook.com

You wrote Outlook 16 – do you mean Outlook 2016?

And when you set up the account, do you just enter the email address and do automatic setup, or do you do manual setup? If doing manual, which type of account do you specify?

This thread may help you. I can’t say I fully understand it, and it is quite long, but it seems like it may be related to your problem, based on this post:

(In a nutshell, it says there are different phases of the modern sleep mode, with different characteristics)
If you let Power options [or some other utility] turn off the display then you can stay in an early phase of S0 Modern standby if you do not set any Power options, Sleep after … . The beauty of this is that you can use Task scheduler to perform timed tasks [which you cannot do if you let it enter that later phase called “sleep”].

I find it hard to believe that MS would change Office users over to free Outlook. Because Outlook is what they have been paying a premium to get in their Office package for years. If the free Outlook becomes part of the Office package, then no need to buy that package. Use a free suite instead, and the free Outlook.

Unless of course the pst feature is not included in the free Outlook, but only in a premium version that is part of the Office suite.

To address your inability to post here:
Have you tried a different browser and/or a different device, like a phone?

For Outlook:
check these:

Outgoing Mail Server Name: smtp.comcast.net
Outgoing Mail Server Port Number: 587

Encryption: TLS (use SSL if TLS isn’t available)
Authentication: Your Comcast.net email address

(for the port setting you should also try 465

I’ve worked on a friend’s aol account quite a bit and I have found that when it has a problem I try a different browser to find the fix. AOL particularly is quirky with Edge.

• in reply to: Word 2016 VERY slow opening some hyperlinks #2631831

Since it is only happening with some links, I would first suspect the links themselves. Sometimes links have a lot of extra characters that I think come sometimes when google was used to get to the link.

Try pasting some “clean” links into your doc and see if they work ok.
