Nope — they haven’t caught up with me yet, and that’s most likely because I don’t (won’t) use their online email account option (@outlook.com). I’ll eventually move from Win7 to Linux and from O2010 to Thunderbird in the not too distant future, in a dual-boot environment.

You’re welcome, and good luck going forward.

Tanya, per @Paul T’s link, “…if you are using Outlook 2010 you are using Basic Authentication, as support for Modern Authentication did not appear in the Office suite until Office 2013. … f you are still on Office 2010, and are planning on moving to Exchange Online, you first need to upgrade your Office applications to a more modern version.”

I purchased O2010 (and have each of my email accounts set as POP3). I did not move to Exchange Online, nor do I use @outlook.com email accounts.

Older versions of Outlook include 2007, 2010, and 2013, each of which is no longer supported. That said, I am currently using Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit). Those other versions also run on Windows 7.

Have you ever run any version of Outlook on Win7? How do you connect to the Internet? Who is your ISP? Finally, what are the instructions that Microsoft sent?

I thought this site was all about Computer-Iot related.

Nope! This is the “Outside the box – Fun Stuff” sub-forum that already has over 3,100 posted topics. Stay tuned for those supermarket specials and latest movies 😉

Thanks for the heads-up, @Alex5723 — even though I’m retired, I just opted out!

      Hey back Sisyphus7x64,

Fortunately, Drcard:))’s approach has resulted in all of my “good” emails going right into my Inbox. Occasionally, another ‘copy’ also lands in my Junk Mail folder (which I delete).

Interesting approach you have, and I’m glad it works for you 🙂

    • After installing the July 2024 Windows security update, released July 9, 2024 (KB5040497), you might see a BitLocker recovery screen upon booting your device.

      Phew! I had installed July’s Security Only update (KB5040498); maybe that’s why I had smooth sailing . . .

    • @Moonbear, I just installed the July updates earlier today and didn’t encounter any issues. The installation went as smoothly as always over many months past (thanks to abbodi86 and PKCano!). Good luck with your weather — I hope it’s not too severe.

Hi and welcome! Perhaps you could explain a little more about how you create your handover and insert your emails into it — some of us may not be familiar with handovers. Also, what version of MS Word and Outlook are you using?

Thank you for providing some more information that might help us help you!

I’m sorry, but considering that this is the “Outside the box – miscellaneous” sub-forum that already has over 140 posted topics, I’d say that this is the right place. And this post is not “gossip,” but fact.

    • When I developed my first web page in 2005, it was a given back then to use one’s registrar’s “privacy” service in order to prevent bad actors from seeing our names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses in order to prevent SPAM (or worse).

One could (and can) still be emailed via the registrar’s registrant-specific email address on WHOIS, which then gets forwarded to the registrant, as indicated above by WSAlsy.

      Talk about weak arguments:

if you upgraded to Windows 10 Home

      Nope; was not an option

      using a hack

      In your opinion

      But you do you.

      Thank you.

      …bypassing a paid support option

A paid support option I likely would have taken if MS had offered ESU to those of us with Windows 7 Home Edition . . . (or if 0Patch’s prerequisite hadn’t required its users to have all updates installed, including those with known telemetry).

The best option now is 0Patch

And the other best option is @abbodi86’s Standalone Installer Script:
