Make sure you are downloading and installing the proper bitness (32-bit or 64-bit) for your system. I find that the download takes a couple of minutes to complete. Once downloaded, double-click the .exe and wait another 1-2 minutes before opening MSE (I do not have MSE open beforehand). Current version is 1.425.89.0. Good luck.

    • in reply to: Creating a Google account #2754255

It’s been a while since I created a Google account; however, whenever I’ve run into a situation where I’m asked to provide a cellphone number in order to verify a new account (via SMS), there’s usually an option to verify using a different method. I’m almost positive that Google offers other options as well. Good luck.

    • @b, I noticed that as well (needed to translate it). I would think that uninstalling the trial version would solve his issue, an alternative not mentioned in that post.

    • @SAAR, what Windows OS are you using? Can you uninstall the trial version of O365 Premium from your computer?

    • I wasn’t able to watch it; however, this looks to be the “original” of many links on YouTube of the concert:

Dave, I just went on eBay and searched for WinDings software (no quotes) and it was the first hit I got: https://www.ebay.com/itm/285777275343. Brand new & still sealed. Good luck!

Steve S., I was able to access this PDF the day Susan posted her topic; however, I just tried again and got the same result as you. Attached is the 6-page PDF.

Wow, @Cybertooth — that’s incredibly horrible that they were so mean to you! I don’t blame you for feeling that way, and I hope you found another resource that was helpful.

Wow — a flash from the past! I had no idea that DSLReports no longer exists; it held a wealth of knowledge. Many was the time I accessed it (starting in 2006) and was participating as recently as 2018, after Verizon bought AOL to use its servers.

Thanks for the heads up, @PL1! I’m still using DSL (!) and will likely sign up.

@Kathy, since Seagate purchased Maxtor several years ago, I wonder if Acronis True Image for Seagate would be able to wipe the drive using the same method.

    • Yes . . . after reading that others had been successful installing both November’s SO (KB5046705) and December’s SO (KB5048676) Updates for Windows Server 2008 R2 earlier this month, I decided to install December’s updates a little earlier than Susan’s usual MS-DEFCON Notice. I downloaded November’s and then December’s into the W7ESUI folder and then ran the script.

Great news — success! And those of you who install the monthly Rollup only need to install December’s Rollup (KB5048695) as it’s cumulative.

By the way, there is no MSRT update for December.

Looks like we’re back in business! Many thanks to @abbodi86 and to @PKCano!
