I rely heavily on your expert patch-or-don’t-patch opinions, and I find the almost-most-useful information in the Patch Summary Table at the end of the Patch Watch issues. PLEASE provide a fully cumulative table, with every opinion’s current status, every time. I mean one that goes back indefinitely. You may wish to differentiate the most recent changes (e.g., from Wait to Install) or the newest, not-previously-addressed opinions in some way (separate, partially-redundant table, color, italics, or whatever). I am also requesting that the patches be listed in numerical order, perhaps with a linked, correspondence table. In this way, when I consider a given Windows Update patch, I can simply look up your current, vitally-valuable opinion rather than having to work through prior published issues.

Boy, would this make things easier for us users!

      Thank you for your consideration.

VERY nicely-done. Value-added for sure. Thanks, Fred.

You guys (responders to my original posts) are great! Thank you so much for taking time to provide meaningful advice.

Straight tech support is typically relatively non-committal, but systems like this are invaluable due to their openness, freedom of expression, and caring contributors.

Thanks, jscher2000, for your very rapid reply! I’m pretty sure I’ll stick w/ZAP, and I think I’ll wait a bit more to install SP2. I assume Microsoft tweaks the SP as it “matures.”

Anyone else have opinions about this stuff?

Thanks. Charolette. Still, my beginning Access students can get confused if the database displays and structures I show them on my projection screen differ from what they’re seeing on their own screens. I have successfully, temporarily, and individually renamed my *.mdb files to *.mdbx and Briefcased them without a replication problem; I just wanted a batch/wholesale way to do it. When I used to have Xtree software, it would have handled the problem with aplomb.
