AskWoody PlusApril 8, 2025 at 10:58 am in reply to: WARNING about Nvidia driver version 572.83 and 4000/5000 series cards #2761430This is old news. There have been issues with Nvidia drivers for awhile. On the Nvidia forum mostly during games. Plus many of these users have made changes to GPUs setting including overclocking. I have seen complaints from people using 3000 series and even 2000 and 1000. I have 3070ti with studio 572.83 driver and haven’t had any issues.

AskWoody PlusSusan,
Any idea when you will OK win11 22h2? -
sheldon
AskWoody PlusI have 2 win pro machines, so that isn’t an issue. With “incontrol” (setup correctly), would Microsoft present the machines win11 23H2?

AskWoody PlusOk here’s a question. If one is upgrading from win10 pro with a local account, will the local account be “honored” by win11 at upgrade or will one have to log onto a Microsoft account?

AskWoody PlusThe company declared bankruptcy and is looking for a buyer. It hasn’t “folded” yet.

AskWoody PlusMarch 19, 2025 at 5:47 pm in reply to: Microsoft sends emails to Windows 10 users about EOS #2757030Just got it today. Will most likely upgrade when 24H2 is ready and before 25H2 comes out.

AskWoody PlusHere is a workaround for this issue:
No specific action is required, however, the service can be safely disabled in order to prevent the error from appearing in Event Viewer.
To do so, you can follow these steps:1) Open a Command Prompt window. This can be accomplished by opening the Start menu and typing ‘cmd’.
The results will include “Command Prompt” as a System application. Select the arrow to the right of “Command Prompt” and select “Run as administrator”.2) Once the window is open, carefully enter the following text:
sc.exe config sgrmagent start=disabled
3) A message may appear afterwards. Next, enter the following text:
reg add HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\SgrmBroker /v Start /d 4 /t REG_DWORD
4) Close the Command Prompt window. This will prevent the related error from appearing in the Event Viewer on subsequent device start up.
