Alex, for future reference the MD5 is sufficient to check with. Also perhaps you should report to/check with Kaspersky before making such claims here.

It might be time to modify the title to include “False Positive” now.

    • You might want to check again so we can delete this topic.

    • So why do you bother checking with Virustotal?

So that I communicate clearly with the vendor, the issue is with the topics started/replies started views? Any other pages/views?

If anyone mutes another then everyone shares the same topic/reply history for the person who has anyone on mute.

See my earlier screenshots below, mute anyone then check with a low count Member.

      Feels like I’ve been muted.

There seems to be a flood of unexpected changes, I muted only Bob then checked what Topics show as being ‘owned’ by @sb and then @pkcano. I’m guessing you’re both conjoined Siamese twins, clones or some new species of AI creation.

So the suspicion is that with eg. @b muted ‘his’ Topics are shown minus his OP + contributions?

Similarly with ‘his’ replies, the conversations are shown, minus his replies?

I’m sure there are uses for a format like that but it’s not working the way I’d have expected it to.

ADDING: No, that’s a waste of server power in my book, showing a msg ‘unmute first’ would keep costs and explanations (paid + volunteer time) down.

Okay that looks like QED to me, thank you @b.

not MUTE USER which is badly broken and should be avoided by all.

Any chance of a test routine to illustrate ‘badly broken’?

I just gave it a quick try and it worked, reset it and now it doesn’t (as designed). That leaves one ‘reported’ scenario where ?iPad? users wouldn’t be able to reset without a mouse, are there any others?

Anything other than switching on/off difficulties experienced or reported?

I recall a comment in a post by someone who had tested a few options, iirc the results were as expected 😉

When you get switched to the ‘basic’ Yahoo mail, you’ll see “Switch to the standard version of Yahoo Mail” on the page header alongside the mail tabs (don’t click it). Placement might vary depending on which browser’s in use, also timing might show 3 generational variants (old, aging and new! or was it Classic, Basic, Standard?).

Sorry, I guess I misread or skimmed your rebooting comments.

That there was still a flaw in the display/screen, it would definitely a worry. That it did disappear with time (how long did it remain visible?) suggests it was a temp. issue (overheat?) and you should check/clean the GPU fans and run HWiNFO for a day or so to show how well the internals are being cooled.

Welcome @Robb, we’re checking that out, sorry if it caused you any inconvenience.

Well, I’ve experienced similar to your description, though probably not on the same site – and it must have been several (5+?) years ago, very likely to be with the same browser though. iirc, I’d put mine down to a glitch bleeding through from a different tab that was ‘holding on’ to a tiny area of screen. It took a reboot to clear mine, killing tabs and the browser didn’t cut it.

I’ve not had a graphics card die (exc. one with 3D killed by MS’ Anniversary Update) since before Pale Moon existed. So, assuming the same glitch (driver bug… ?), I’d put it down to luck, a pure fluke.

Have Process Explorer open in the background and when the focus is stolen hit Alt+F4 (kill process) and quickly switch to PE (Alt+Tab), the program closing will be listed in RED (last time I checked).

There have been a couple of little software toys that should pick up the focus stealer but I can’t remember them though HappyDroid’s Focus https://www.happydroid.com/focus should do the trick – it does have one red flag (generic suspicious) on Virustotal but that’s 99+% going to be a false positive: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/f3f6bbe9dfce2eb0336a0a43cae30162f7afcf2fe1a3b2850e9dd3997facc6da
