AskWoody PlusApril 29, 2022 at 10:03 am in reply to: How do I check .NET and whether or not I need an update? #2442732Thanks Craig! I did have the box checked for “Receive Updates for other MS products when you update Windows.” I followed the directions in looking for my version of .NET Framework. I show that I have version 4.8.4084.0
If my observation is correct, I have a current .NET Framework version. If I do not, please kindly reply so that I can update it.

AskWoody PlusApril 26, 2022 at 2:23 pm in reply to: How do I check .NET and whether or not I need an update? #2442144I did a Google search on how to determine which version of .NET Framework that I have. I have version 4.8.4084.0. I am not in the category of needing any update if I am correct.

AskWoody PlusI have performed a formatting of my USB drive, however I am still experiencing my computer to freeze up/lock up for moments at a time. I tried to put a new folder into the USB drive and couldn’t even rename the folder. I could get maybe one letter of what I wanted to name the folder before my computer locked up however temporarily it may have been. Could I have a bad USB flash drive or other issues with my computer???

AskWoody PlusNovember 28, 2021 at 7:23 am in reply to: After last Windows update I can’t update Chrome on my desktop computer #2403856Sorry for the delayed response. Thanks for your help b. However by the time I got to my computer today. My Chrome web browser had updated. When I opened my web browser it left me a message stating it had updated. I guess it was updating in the background when I was trying to update it manually.

AskWoody PlusNovember 2, 2021 at 6:54 am in reply to: After last Windows update I can’t update Chrome on my desktop computer #2399453For some reason, after I exported my bookmarks. My Chrome browser updated. I didn’t have to follow the steps as you had outlined. However, I will save a copy of the instructions should this happen again.
Thank you for helping.

AskWoody PlusI use Trend Micro Maximum Security on my desktop computer. If as you suggest that Windows Defender is much better along with the ASR. Providing that I convert to Windows Defender, what are the steps I should follow in order to do so?

AskWoody PlusSeptember 3, 2021 at 5:15 pm in reply to: Is there a life expectancy to Chrome on a Desktop computer #2387664I haven’t blocked Chrome from updating on my Desktop computer. Nor do I know how to block it from updating. I am sure it wouldn’t be difficult to figure out though. As far as my Chromebook is concerned, I read that there is an end date for updates. Is this true?
The reason why I asked my first question. Is I want to sign up for paperless statements from my bank’s Credit Card and it currently doesn’t support the Chrome browser. I may have to invest in a laptop and use the Edge web browser. I already have a Desktop computer that uses Chrome. I could keep the Chromebook as is and not get a laptop and just convert my Desktop computer over to Edge. But am I able to export my bookmarks from Chrome to Edge without loosing my current bookmarks in Chrome so I can still use my Chromebook.
