ManagerThis is such sad news. It was our honour to meet Woody and his family 6 years ago, and those memories will be a blessing to us as we remember a wonderful man, who always had time to share, even very recently.
Heartfelt condolences to his family. -

ManagerIf someone knows a way to decline the higher upgrade, I’d be interested to hear it. I’ve only seen the ability to ignore or install.

ManagerA lot of people have been making noise about this, without mentioning one feature that is at the heart of how it works:
Your files within Dropbox are sent to a third-party AI only when you chose to interact with AI powered features. For example, when you ask a question about a file.
FAQs about privacy using AI on Dropbox
Several people are unable to make the suggested changes to settings, as they don’t yet have it available in their Dropbox account.

ManagerIt’s been like that for ages, with different links and information. The apparent crossover is because they are parts of different ecosystems with the back end.

ManagerI read two things about this yesterday:
From Dan Goodin, at ArsTechnica
While iLeakage works against Macs only when running Safari, iPhones and iPads can be attacked when running any browser because they’re all based on Apple’s WebKit browser engine.
…
Once visited, the iLeakage site requires about five minutes to profile the target machine and, on average, roughly another 30 seconds to extract a 512-bit secret, such as a 64-character string.
From Alex Ivanos, on StackDiary:In the practical application of this discovery, when a susceptible macOS or iOS device accesses a site with the iLeakage code, the site stealthily prompts the device to open another website.
…
But, for the exploit to be fully effective, a target device has to spend an initial five minutes on the malicious site for profiling. Subsequent data extraction could then take an average of 30 more seconds.
(And presumably, that timeframe is interim only… likely to be sped up at some point)1 user thanked author for this post.

ManagerThat wasn’t an aspect I had seen here, but it sounds like a reasonable security action.
There has been a continued increase of abuse of QR codes, linking them to malware, lots since the impact of pandemic contact-tracer apps around the work.

ManagerI believe you may need one of these “Lightning Digital AV Adapters” – it connects to the Lightning plug, and accepts the HDMI cable that fits into your TV. I don’t believe it requires/uses wifi?

Unless of course, you have an AirPlay compatible tv…
