b, maybe I wasn’t able to follow the rather convoluted instructions, but unfortunately, this did not help at all.  I was unable to find my “User” templates as most of the folders I could track down, were empty, or did not contain my templates.   Thanks for the suggestions.

    • Well, I finally got it to work the way I wanted it.  Not quite sure how to explain it, but I went to the Tools>Options>Dockable and ticked off the <Project Explorer> and the <Locals Window>.

I was then able to separate the Project Window so that it was floating and then dock it beside the “Code” view and somehow, merge the two so they were side by side.

That is the best explanation I can give.

    • WSMartinM, yes, that it does, but then the code window disappears. If I have the code window open and press CTRL R, the Project window appears, but the code window disappears.

In a lot of the examples that I have seen, the Project Explorer window and the code window are side-by-side.  I want to know how they got that display.

    • Paul, interesting approach.  I will definitely think about this one and I will have to try it out

    • Rick, thanks for the insight.  I haven’t reached the Powershell process yet – its on my list of things to learn after an Intro to VBA.  I will follow up with the “Delete multiple blank rows and columns in Excel” link you gave me.

Alex5723, I went at WhyNotWin11 again and it downloaded and ran successfully, so  I do not know what happened the first time.

I am not sure how to paste the results here.  Perhaps someone can help.

FYI, the only RED item is the TPM Version which shows up as Missing/Disabled.  Everything is GREEN

JohnW, thanks for the insight. I think that, before I start “mucking” around in an area that I don’t know that much about (I am definitely not very techie), I will wait and see what Microsoft is going to do.  I have to wonder if they will change some of the “requirements” as they seem to be getting a lot of unfavourable feedback.

I will keep your reference for future reference.

Carl, thanks for the response.  I did not realize that this type of information was required, so I will try and address your points.

The PC Health check app  is not available.  Alex5723, WhyNotWin11 shows up as dangerous software to my antivirus program, so I will have to figure out a way around that – to come.

Chip set:  I am not sure what is meant here, nor do I have any idea where to find it.  I am sure you can help me with this.

Right now, I am relying on Win 10 being supported until 2025

Mobo and UEFI: According to what I can find out, the BIOS mode is UEFI.

Hope this helps.  Right now, I am relying on Win 10 being supported until 2025 as I will probably buy a new desktop by then and, hopefully, it will support Win 11.

RG, thanks for the VBA code. 😁  It will take me a few days, but I will give it a go as soon as I figure out how to put it together with an Excel spreadsheet.  I have a series of Lessons on VBA coming up soon,  so this will be a good sub to practice with.

WOW, what a range of replies.  My thanks to all who did so.

To my anonymous friend(s), the one with the calendar years the same as 2021 looks like it will do the trick.

Alex5723, I am afraid I am not clear as to how to interpret your answer.

PaulK, unless I am missing something, your tables only go to the Year 2000.  They work to that day and present an interesting approach.

OscarCP, you reference is similar to that of one of the anonymous contributors and is suitable for my purposes – two great minds are thinking alike.

I was actually hoping that there might be some simple(?) VBA code that would solve the problem.  Just to show y’all how old I am, I could probably write an algorithm in Fortran.  My “problem” would be to translate it into Excel VBA as my knowledge of VBA is limited right now and Fortran has no implicit Date/Time variables.  However, a couple of the supplied solutions will work perfectly for my purpose.

    • WSMartinM, I followed your instructions, except, Excel did not ask me “Merge styles that have the same name?”, it simply went ahead and “did it”, what ever “it” was.  The result was the same though, the new style appeared on the old spreadsheet and none of the other styles were changed as there were no other ones to change.  Oh well, magic happened?  Thanks for your help with this aspect of getting new styles to work with old spreadsheets.

      Ron M

    • I now have a new box that I can click in the Styles area that applies the number formats the way I need them, so thank you WSMartinM, that works fine on new spreadsheets.  Is there a way to make it appear on all spreadsheets, old or new?

      Ron

    • WSMartinM, thanks for the instructions on updating an existing Style, that I created, and modifying an existing, visible one on the main Toolbar.

As far as writing a macro and putting it on the Quick Access tool bar, I am afraid that is a bit beyond my capabilities right now, well,  maybe more than a bit.  I have just set out to learn VBA for Excel and while it probably will not be that much of a problem as I started my computer life in Fortran, Assembler and ended the programming side with C and a bit of C++, so I can read the code when I encounter it.  My problem is trying to understand what it is doing. 🙃  The rest of my IT career was centred more around the Systems/Business Analyst side of that world and then I retired!

Nevertheless, I will give it a go – first – Update the Book Template.

      Ron

    • WSMartinM, I was actually wondering if it was possible to assign this new formatting to one of the visible style boxes as right now, to get the “new” style, I have to scroll down to the “Comma”  style and apply it.  If I could assign this new style to one of the existing, ‘visible without scrolling’, Style boxes, e.g., “Bad” and rename it to “Number Format”.  That way, I would only have to click on the new, renamed Style box instead of having to scroll down to the “Comma” style. (I know, lazy me!) 😁

      Ron

    • WSMartinM, thank you for the reference – so far so good. Is it possible to update the “Book” file created by this process or do I have to make a new one to replace the old one. Also, is it possible to replace one of the existing Style boxes that are visible when the spreadsheet opens, rather than have to Select down to find the “new” format? Thanks.
