True, I grant you that MS could start enforcing their license restrictions concerning software keys sold through key resellers like Mr. Key Shop …

But apparently they haven’t yet done so in over 18 years as in the case of Mr. Key Shop …

But yes … there is risk … as there is in most things we buy these days …

If I’m not mistaken, after you purchase an activation key 🔑, they direct you to official Microsoft download servers to get MS official software … in fact, you could even use heidoc.net to get to the official MS software download links to help assure yourself you’re getting legitimate “untouched” software …

I must confess 🙏 I used this route a while back to activate 2 very old “experimental” Windows 10 laptops that I upgraded from windows 7 & 8.1 after MS had turned off their Windows 10 activation servers when upgrading from 7 or 8.1 to 10 … the keys I received were “OEM” but activated perfectly without any issue using the Windows 10 PRO 22H2 ISO’s I had downloaded directly from MS years earlier … and this was all done in the good old USA 🇺🇸 not in the UK 🇬🇧 or some other EU country …

So, am I an illegal pirate 🏴‍☠️ breaking US law or MS’s licensing agreement ❓ … are these 2 very old “Win XP era” Windows 10 laptops going to turn into unactivated non-genuine zombie systems ❓ … they haven’t yet 🤔 … MS hasn’t “deactivated” these keys and I’m still receiving & successfully installing monthly Win 10 updates (at least until 10/14/25 🤞) …

In any event … is the software legit – I believe so … are the keys legit – I believe so … is it legal & ethical – I think so but 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️ … just my 2¢

You can do this using either the special “Get.Cell” built-in Excel function or via VBA …

Below is one of many YouTube links that explains how to use the “Get.Cell” function as you can’t directly type it in as a normal cell formula …

The example shown in the video can easily be adapted to your needs …

    • in reply to: Macrium Reflect 8.0 free end-of-support got an update #2658846

      From @opti1 reply #2533182 above (dated: Feb 10, 2023)…

Currently it seems that all the ‘Free’ downloads from the Macrium Reflect site are the v8.1 Free Trial, not v8.0 Free. 🙁

I suspect that the “free” version you downloaded some time ago was actually the “free trial” version if you downloaded it directly from Macrium …

However, MajorGeeks still has the “free” free 8.0 version available for download & it’s fully updated with the very last “free” Macrium update released in Dec 2023 – version 8.0.7783 …

      https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/macrium_reflect_free_edition.html

This is what I use & just checking … it still runs “free” 👌

    • in reply to: Upgrading from Windows 7 (or 8.1) to Windows 10 #2652935

A few months after MS stopped activating Win10 via a Win7 & Win8.1 product keys I found myself in need of a few more Win10 Pro keys in preparation for potential future upgrades to Win11 should I choose to do so.

A close friend of mine working in the IT industry suggested I try MrKey Shop based out of the UK.

After some preliminary online research, I purchased 1 Win10 Pro key mainly for testing purposes. That was in Jan of this year. The key I received (within seconds of purchase via email) was an OEM license for Win10 Pro.

As Win10 Pro had been previously installed & running perfectly to my satisfaction on one of the test laptops, the received product key activated successfully with the MS activation servers without any hesitation or issues what-so-ever.

Though I don’t represent MrKey Shop in any way, shape or form & cannot attest to whether or not all MS product keys purchased from this reseller will always be legit, the one key I purchased so far seems to be. And their current price seems to be reasonable (if key’s are indeed legit) now that you can’t get them from MS directly.

In any event, links to MrKey Shop are posted below & always … “caveat emptor” 🤞
