30 USD a year for a usable system doesn’t sound like a bad deal, to be honest. If AMD will keep releasing their GPU drivers for Windows 10 (they did ship them until June 2022, while W7 end of support was January 2020), I might consider. Maybe we’ll have Windows 12 until then :).

What are the disadvantages? 😉 No ads, no issues, no bad patches?

I ran 11 Preview as an Insider, skipped it when it went RTM, used it for 3 days last week (swapped SATA SSD for NVMe, so I wanted to clean install anyway) and decided to stick with W10 until the end of support.

Hopefully W12 (already announced) will be less useless.

Can I have the taskbar on the right side of the screen?

I was on Insider program as well. MS completely ignored the feedback about the vertical taskbar – they had new emojis to work on. Also, officially, my CPU is not supported (although it’s an i7 and I have both Secure Boot and TPM on). My soundcard is also officially not supported

There is nothing special about W11 I’d really want – so back to Windows 10 for me.

I used Windows 11 as an Insider. I was hoping all the time MS will address the taksbar feedback, but they didn’t. There’s nothing especially compelling about Windows 11 and I like my taksbar on the right. So now I’m on 10 21H2.

Fully agree, hate the new Search bar as well. Why the telemetry then? It’s not a problem to check how many people move the taskbar to left/right/top. I see noi point in keeping in on the top/bottom on a widescreen monitor.

Installed the Insider Preview yesterday… Seems to be working fine, although I have non supported hardware (Skylake, but with TPM 2.0 and Windows Secure Boot enabled).

WHY THEY REMOVED THE POSSIBILITY TO HAVE THE TASKBAR ON THE RIGHT IS BEYOND MY IMAGINATION

I turned it on in BIOS and it seems Skylake is sufficient to show TPM 2.0 in the Device Manager.

I cannot install March update (KB5000802) due to error 0x800f0831. My system is Windows 20H2 Pro, build 19042.804. When I do:

      1. sfc /scannow I get “Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.”
      2. Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth I get error 0x800f081f
      3. I have downloaded latest ISO using MCT, mounted as drive H: and used Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:esd:H:\Sources\Install.esd:5 /limitaccess. I also got error 0x800f081f

What else can I do else to repair my installation?
