I have been trying to install the Elgato Video Capture software on my Windows 11 PC for a week now. Running into all kinds of issues with Windows XML Core Services. Going back and forth with their tech support. You would think if they are still selling this that they would have updated the software by now. Still haven’t gotten the Elgato software to run.

Installed and ran this, but it is only seeing minimal (5) bookmarks out of the hundreds I have saved. I see no option to change whatever level it is looking at. The path for 4 bookmarks is

/menu/Mozilla Firefox and the remaining bookmark path is /toolbar.   I have no clue how to get it to see the hundreds of others that are saved in Firefox so I guess this was a waste of time and I will delete it.

Wondering if there is a way to tell which build is on the burned installation disc? If I follow the process you outlined here (“This is not an onerous chore; the Win10 Media Creation Tool (MCT) can make it almost a background task. Here’s how:”), does it automatically burn the version I have installed on my computer, or does it burn the latest version MS has made available?

Circle graph keys leave a lot to be desired on the graphics for this article. The color squares are so extremely small, and even blowing up the page doesn’t help to distinguish between the colors. I know I am getting older, but it seems this could be much better. I hope in the future any circle graphs are keyed in a more useful manner.

FYI, after reading this I checked my File History (Win 10) an found that because the USB drive was disconnected “too long” I had to reconnect and click over. However, after doing that like 10 times and getting nowhere – and even though there was no problem reading the drive via Explorer, I did an online search of the problem and found a number of people that have the same problem. Seems like you have to reset up the whole File History backup feature and start from scratch. Pretty poor backup method imo. I should be able to use a USB that may not always be plugged in for this. I basically just turned the stupid “feature” off as I no longer feel like wasting time trying to make something work that should.

I tried SecureAPlus today and I have a fairly new Windows 8.1 computer. At first, it was running fine in the background, but then it took over my computer to the point where is was functionally useless. I tried changing the scan setting to SLOW, but that did nothing. After trying to figure out what was causing the problem and rebooting 5 times, I had to quickly open the Control Panel and Uninstall SecureAPlus. It solved the prblem. I have 24 Gb RAM. No way to shut it down either. Not for me as I do not like something taking over my computer.

I purchased one of the iDrives based on this write up and ran into nothing but problems. The instructions are horrible just to connect it. Once connected via Wifi, I couldn’t access the internet during the backup. So I disconnected that and decided to plug an ethernet cable directly into the unit. The software tells me it is not connected even though Windows 8.1 sees the drive. Support was worthless. So sorry I paid $150 for this junk. Now I am trying to get them to give me my money back. Haven’t heard from them for a week, so I figure i am screwed.  Don’t buy one of these unless you are super advanced because you won’t get much help.

Well, I didn’t see that previously. Ran it – it found errors and fixed. Rebooted. Tried the update again. Yup – same result. Still not installed.

Yes, tried manual download and update – same result.

Yes, tried troubleshooter link… plenty of space on my drive, update doesn’t ask me to accept any license terms – nothing else there pertains, so this was no help either.

KB2919355 was installed as were other updates since. Today I tried to install a number of other new updates and I get the same error code for 8 more updates. So that is a total of 9 updates that won’t install. Others have this problem online. I do not understand how there could be an error code and not even MS knows what it means. I can honestly see why many ppl do not update at all. This kind of stuff is a waste of time. I have already spent more than 8 hours trying to figure it out. I expected more from a new machine with a new operating system.

I have a Skydrive account and tried downloading the app for my desktop only to find the app is totally useless as it won’t run under Administrator rights with UAC off. Idiotic! Gave up.
