I’ve had WU paused since I was one of the unlucky to get the temp profile bug (win 10 pro x64 1909), with KB4532693 only on one machine, uninstalled the patch and back to normal, other machine installed KB4532693 without issue.

The last week I’ve been doing some of my own trouble shooting to try and get KB4532693 to install on the problem machine, one user (local admin account) from disabling start up entries, removing third party anti-virus software, rebooting into safe mode (which I might add had an working profile, but restarting was back to the temp profile) nothing worked.

I had KB4532693 stand alone package downloaded from Microsoft Update Catalog.

I was finally able to get KB4532693 install without the temp profile bug by adding another user local admin account, logging into that account and installing the stand alone package, windows update was still paused.

I’m no longer faced with the temp profile bug, and removed the new local admin account.
