You need to keep a machine aside so you can test all the installs for us!ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

All those CRC not match errors indicate the backup file is corrupt. This could be due to the disk you are using being flakey, issues with the connection to that drive, memory problems etc.

There is a line that says “run check archive integrity”, so I suggest you do that.
I don’t know where it is, but it is probably a menu option in Paragon.

      cheers, Paul

p.s. you could just have posted the contents or attached the file. Multiple screenshots is much harder to work with.

Activated and working is not the same thing as legal. You may get lucky and find MS have better things to do than chase you up for a license.

    • Windows should only clean out files it doesn’t need. If you have an image backup you can let it proceed as it wants.

As you shut it off mid-flight, I suggest you run SFC and DISM to clean up any mess you may have made, then run the cleaner again.

Agreed 24H2 might turn up, but there are still several months for the bugs to be ironed out before an upgrade is required.

    • in reply to: 23H2 / 24H2 / Local v. Microsoft Account. #2759526

You do not need to use an MS account to login to Windows.
You can use O365 with a local Windows account, but you need to login to O365 with your MS account.

      Don’t know about QL.

      cheers, Paul

p.s. use GRC InControl if you want to stay on 23H2

    • in reply to: Paragon back up. #2759521

I have no idea where it is, you will have to search.
Open Explorer, double click on C: and then type hdmengine_brv.log in the search box in the top right.

    • in reply to: Win 10 Pro 22H2 to Win 11 Pro 23H2 Conversion Guide #2759516

All you need to do is let Windows perform the update via Windows Update. Alternatively, download the W11 ISO, mount it (double click) and run setup.exe from the new drive.
This assumes your machine is OK for W11. Use these utilities to test it.

As always, make an image backup before doing anything.

Not an issue if you pay MS for the EOS patches, or pay 0patch. There are many reasons to continue using your current hardware and 0patch makes this relatively cheap.

      We need “hdmengine_brv.log”.

You can post the contents if it’s short.

    • in reply to: Microsoft vs Passwords #2758973

A passkey uses a unique public / private key to authenticate you on the host. You store the private key locally and the host keeps the public key.
When you want to authenticate, the host sends a code calculated via the public key and your machine confirms this via the private key. You don’t need to do anything, except maybe open the private key store.
As long as nobody else has your private key, you remain secure.

A PIN is stored locally and unlocks the login. You still need the password for recovery.

Not downloading is an MS / Windows Update issue. Try again in a couple of days / reset the WU queue.

First, check that you have set the registry values correctly.
Open a CMD prompt and run the following command, then post the results here.
      1. Open CMD: Win R cmd Enter
      2. Paste this text and press Enter: reg query HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\AutoDiscover

Use the instructions in this post to create a new profile. Then you may be able to setup the mail in the new profile.

      cheers, Paul
