I installed kb4099950 and kb4088875 last weekend  and have had nothing but smooth sailing (knock on wood). Am I ok to settle in to wait for defcon 3 or do I need to uninstall kb4099950 and then install the catalog version?

@MrBrian I installed KB4099950 and KB4088875 (and then restarted) with no issues would that mean I don’t need KB409967? Or should I get it form the update catalog and install it?

You are sadly most likely right, I really don’t think Microsoft CAN have a eureka moment. But at the same time, I still hold out hope that someone somewhere in that company will notice when more and more of the money (users) keeps disappearing.

Same here, you would think WD would be set up in such a way that when a certain engine version has an issue that checking for updates would report that there weren’t any until the safe version was universally available.

By this point I’m convinced that Microsoft has found a way to keep their investors and stockholders from seeing reports like this, how else can the Microsoft business model be explained? Seriously though, I would love to be a fly on the wall during the next stock meeting to see it explained just how Windows 7 has actually GAINED almost 2 percent user share. One has to wonder when the people with money on the line will start questioning why Windows 10 has almost stopped gaining users when the launch idea for this OS was to give it away for FREE!

That was my plan, so now I’m settling in to wait for the dust to settle. (If, as you said, it ever does.)

That’s the easiest thing I’ve been told to do since this whole mess started! Should I restart after installing KB 4099950?

Thank you @MrBrian, since I have both KB4054700 and KB4074598 installed you’ve taken a massive weight off my mind. I’m still a little fuzzy one one thing though, what about KB4o99950? How will that come into play once Woody gives the green light?

Is it still ok for that to be the only patch installed at this point?

After reading through the other posts here I decided to erase my question and start over. Following the advice I received from @MrBrian Saturday night I installed KB4100408 on its own. Now it seems like I may have misunderstood what I was told. Just about everything I’ve read talks about installing KB4099950, KB4088875 and THEN installing KB4100408 if you don’t plan to roll the updates back. Which is where my problem lies, should I go ahead and uninstall 4100408 then install the other 2 in order or sit tight and wait for more information?

@MrBrian I went ahead and installed KB 4100480, so far everything’s running fine. Would it be a good idea to hide the other patches offered through WU?

Ok, then I think my way is clear. I’ll probably hold off until tomorrow then install the patch.

@MrBrian If I install KB 4100480, should I install KB 4099950 first? If the answer is yes, should I also reboot between updates even if I’m not prompted to do so?

Ok, at least that’s settled. Now all I need to do is figure out whether rolling back or installing KB 4100480 is the better option.
