My system did double restart though, did anyone else have this?

AskWoody LoungerJuly 31, 2024 at 2:53 pm in reply to: Standalone installer script for Windows 7 ESU, regardless the license #2692197Since my system (Windows 7 Home Premium) isn’t even supposed to have Bitlocker, would simply disabling the service before I install the updates hurt anything?
The service is already stopped and set to manual start. (The default setting as far as I know.)

AskWoody LoungerJuly 28, 2024 at 3:06 pm in reply to: Standalone installer script for Windows 7 ESU, regardless the license #2691086Do those of us using the script need to watch out for the Bitlocker issues that are effecting W10 & 11?
I’m hoping to install the July updates tomorrow before severe weather moves in for the rest of the week and I’d like to know if there’s anything I should watch out for.

AskWoody LoungerThank you both for the trying to help. I actually think I figured out why I originally thought there was a problem.
The things I was trying to block weren’t the domains for those sites, they were things the sites themselves use.
I added askwoody.com and youtube and they were blocked as expected.

AskWoody LoungerI would’ve thought so too until this morning.
I added jnn-pa.googleapis.com to my host file then flushed the dns and went back to youtube and ublock was still detecting it.
then I also realized (since I was looking for this now) that ublock was still detecting facebook.net which I’ve had in my host file since 2020.
(I always block facebook in ublock so I never noticed if it was .com or .net)
I found this: https://serverfault.com/questions/452268/hosts-file-ignored-how-to-troubleshoot#

AskWoody LoungerDecember 12, 2023 at 1:07 pm in reply to: Standalone installer script for Windows 7 ESU, regardless the license #2611136Is there no new Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool this month?
I ran a check for updates and nothing came back.
There wasn’t a new version listed in the update catalog either.

AskWoody LoungeruBlock does appear to be the problem, disabling it let Outlook load normally.
Now I just to figure out why this started happening.

AskWoody LoungerIs there any reason to think that using uBlock Origin may have something to do with this?
Late last year I had a situation similar to this where ublock was blocking one of the things outlook needed to fully load, I set that to noop and everything worked again.
This time nothing new has been blocked that I can see but I want to cover all my bases.
