Retired: Former project manager in the field of election administration, a role in which I designed & tested highly specialised mainframe, midrange and PC-based applications, wrote system & procedural manuals, managed contracts, designed forms (often using Word and/or Excel), developed a mission-critical postscript program for the production of voter lists, and developed & delivered technical training programs to a wide range of staff. I have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word and am competent in a range of other MS Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint. In recognition of my contribution to supporting end-users with Microsoft Word in multiple on-line forums, Microsoft awarded me Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) status in 2006, a status I've retained ever since. I'm an adminstrator/moderator for five of the forums I support. I have written tutorials on field calculations for maths and dates, as well as for mailmerge, all using Word. These tutorials are all available free of charge on-line. I contributed content for and did much of the technical review of The Secret Life of Word: A Professional Writer's Guide to Microsoft Word Automation, by R Delwood, published by XML Press in 2011(http://xmlpress.net/publications/word-secrets/). I also contributed much of the content found in Word Hacks, by A Savikas, published by O'Reilly Media in 2005 (http://shop.oreilly.com/product/9780596004934.do). My hobbies include photography, fishing and hiking/trekking. I hold a BTh degree, awarded by Charles Sturt University in 2016.
