Is there a free tool that will capture a window that scrolls horizontally?

I did not notice that I was not logged in.

As stated the problem is fixed.  I edited the registry as pointed out in PaulK’s reply.

      No virus reported.

The update did take around 2 hours.
It seems to think Norton Security is incompatible even though Norton’s web site says the version I have (the latest) is compatible.

The update removed all of the Microsoft Games I had loaded from Windows 7. I reloaded the games but they will not run.
      Not sure of the problem.

All I can say is destroy the index as I noted above and force a total rebuild from scratch. That is what I finally had to do.

I have rebuilt the index from scratch but this didn’t fix the problem. Your solution in an earlier post included reformatting the partition which I can not do since the files reside on my C drive.

I am having the same problem. Some program files (.exe) are not being found by Windows search. Help files, folders, zip files with the same name do show up.
I have rebuilt the index, checked the file types and what folders are being indexed. For example, paperport (C:Program Files (x86)NuancePaperPortPaprPort.exe) returns
      42379-Capture
Also, searches for Autoruns, process explorer and processs monitor do not return the correct results.

I got the same thing, with an 8GB (nominal) flash drive. However, formatted size is only 7.45GB. I suspect, as BWP states above, a 16GB drive will be necessary.

Edited to add: When I unchecked the option to copy system files, the program was quite willing to let me use the 8GB drive (or an external hard drive).

Same problem using a 32GB USB drive. What’s the solution?

    • in reply to: How to clean-install a Windows 10 upgrade #1527714

I have followed the above instructions for the media creation tool the past six weeks without success. When I try to download windows 10 onto a USB or DVD from the media creation tool, I get the download to 100%, but when it tries to verify the download I then receive a “Something happened error.” This has happened on both by desktop PC and my laptop. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I used a simple program called “PDF Producer” (on both a Win 98 and Win XP OS) from a company called Data Becker. Once installed, it popped up as a printer choice whenever I clicked on “Print” from within a program or within a browser. However, I cannot get it to install correctly on my new Dell notebook, which has a 64-bit Win 7 OS. I’ve tried using the Troubleshooting Compatibility tool, and still there’s a file or segment of the program called PDF Genie which just will not install. While Nitro sounds like a fabulous program, it’s way more than I need. All I need is a simple “Print” add-on that will turn things I create (or files I open) into a PDF .. both to keep the documents from being edited once I send them out, and because PDFs are so universal, that most everyone can easily open and view one. Is there no Win 7 compatible, safe and easy freeware, shareware or inexpensive program out there that mimics my old PDF Producer??

I use PDFCreator which easily creates PDFs from any Windows program. You use it like a printer in any Windows application.

The free Nitro PDF Reader 2, already released, also has a QuickSign button which eliminates that time-consuming process by letting the user insert their digitized signature (which has to be scanned and saved as a JPEG). Nitro stores the signature for future use.

If you are running a 64 bit operating system you should install the Adobe PDF iFilter 9 for 64-bit platforms. See http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4025

Adobe currently bundles a 32-bit PDF iFilter with Adobe Acrobat® 9 as well as free Adobe Reader® 9 software.
