    • in reply to: external hard drive not showing up #1591825

Right click the Windows flag (bottom left corner) and select “Disk Management”. Does the disk show up?

      cheers, Paul

I do get an ‘initialize disk’ dialog box however
I am hesitant to do anything with this. Would I erase what’s on the disk if I initialized?
      thanks.

    • in reply to: quick access toolbar height #1550239

      1. Set Quick-Access toolbar above ribbon
      2. Minimize ribbon

You’ve touched a sore point with me. The ribbon is by far the STUPIDEST thing Microsoft ever did. I want toolbars I can control both their size and location. What a pain in the ass the ribbon is!!!!!

Thanks. I’d rather get used to a new QA location than lose the territory.
BTW, windows versions before XP and Windows 8 get my vote

Thank you so much for your efforts.
Works perfectly and a real time saver.
      Thanks.

    • in reply to: I can see them but I can’t load them #1435282

      Thanks for the info!

A second thought: If I have the server mapped as the Z: drive, does that count as 3 characters or does the complete string (\192.168.61.5Projects) count as 24 characters?

      Thanks.

    • in reply to: weekly average for daily data #1423043

      Thanks!

My data has headers, so I changed it to:
      =AVERAGEIF(C:C,ROW()-1,B:B)

And for my purposes, the first 52 weeks of the year will suffice

    • in reply to: Using countifs #1419591

      Thanks!

BTW, your revision turned up an error in my typing in the dates, so DOUBLE THANKS!

    • in reply to: open *.xls in already open Excel 2007 #1414873

      Thanks.
However, it doesn’t seem to make any difference whether “Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)” is unchecked or checked. There is no apparent change in behavior.

    • in reply to: c: not accessible #1406203

Right click on the C drive in Windows explorer and select properties. Click on the security tab. What permissions are set when you highlight Administrators and Users?

      BINGO!
That was it. Don’t know how permissions got changed, but they’re back where they were
      Thanks!

    • in reply to: c: not accessible #1406125

      no to dual boot question

attached file has screen shots of (1) error message that I get when clicking on the C: drive in windows explorer and (2) the folder settings (I reset to defaults)

Also, this is an office laptop that has been used by others lately, so I’m not sure what changes may have been made.

      Thanks

    • thanks!

    • in reply to: Exporting from Adobe produces wrong date format #1388951

Thanks to all. Since the dataset is reasonable small, my workaround is to visually check the ones that don’t have the correct date and then search and replace the excel date number; e.g., 40365.

    • in reply to: Folders keep collapsing #1379704

      Thanks.
Macro expanded waaay too much. Will learn to live with the IMAP limitations.
