      Hi Susan,

I have an Asustor AS6302T. The SMB settings in the Services applet are set to Default which is explained as “SMB1 does not support SMB Signing. Other SMB protocols support SMB signing but do not force all connections to use it”. I have also got “Highest SMB Version: SMB3” and “Lowest SMB Version SMB2”

      Best Regards,

      Jeff

Yes, it’s working for me. I’m an avid RSS blog reader and yours is a favourite. The most recent entry is this one (asking if RSS is working). I’m using Newsblur as my reader.

    • My Lenovo Yoga laptop has died

To check that the hardware works download a Linux Live image, write it to a USB and boot from that.

Can you roll back to a point previous to the issues (press F8 as Windows is starting)?
Do you have a backup you can return to?

      cheers, Paul

Thanks Paul. I’m wondering if by dreadful coincidence it may be a hardware problem as I cannot even see the BIOS screen.

    • and now my laptop is, as described above, almost bricked.

I hope you have at least managed to check that this isn’t a hardware problem that just happens to coincide with the software issues…?

(Firmware / BIOS setup screen working would at least mean the display panel is alive, and further hardware testing should be possible by booting from a live-USB or some such…?)

Thankyou for the suggestion, I will indeed attempt it if my USB -> DP cable doesn’t solve the problem.

    • My Lenovo Yoga laptop has died, thanks to these fixes from Microsoft. The screen now rarely and rapidly flashes up and then disappears. I’m going to see if a USB-C to DP cable (not yet obtained) will allow me to connect a separate monitor. Has anyone else had this problem and solved it?

A bit of history. The Start Menu started popping up all by itself. I uninstalled the fix that was supposed to trigger that (at least, I thought I did) but the problem didn’t go away. So I reinstalled the fix. Then I decided to go through the ‘Fresh Start’ option which worked nicely. Then more fixed came from MS and I foolishly allowed them through and now my laptop is, as described above, almost bricked. Thankyou Microsoft.

Please allow me to share my experience.

Running Win10 64bit 1803, I installed KB4480976. Immediately I had problems with power and sleep. When the PC went to sleep, it wouldn’t wake up. I checked various things including “Powercfg /devicequery wake_armed” but couldn’t get the problem to go away. I uninstalled KB4480976 and the problem then disappeared.

I posted feedback in the MS Feedback Hub, in the “Power and Battery > Sleep” category. You should be able to find it if you search for KB4480976
