I rarely disagree with Susan, but LTSC is the “only way to fly” when using Windows 10 or 11. If any of you have been watching, Microsoft breaks Windows 11 Enterprise/SaaS at least once a quarter. And by breaks, I mean the bad stuff: BSOD, VPN not working, File copy issues, etc. I personally have been tracking Windows 11 SaaS since mid 2023 and it’s just not worth it. As an Enterprise organization we sidestepped Windows 10 SaaS a few years ago in favor of Windows 10 LTSC and avoided ALL the Windows 10 SaaS patch issues in that channel. Not to mention avoiding the hassle of Feature Upgrades annually and the man hours that takes to get from one to another. We are now doing the same thing by embracing Windows 11 LTSC and we’ve avoided every single Windows 11 SaaS patch issue even though it usually uses the exact same patch for both!

Yes,  it is true that Microsoft does not recommend LTSC for standard use, but when what you want is a stable operating system with a multi-year shelf life that works just as well as SaaS for everything your business needs, the time saved in not dealing with patch issues and upgrades is well worth the investment. Here is yet another example on what they think is best vs. what business’ (especially large Enterprises like ours) needs.
