Hi,   have seen your remarks on Win11 24H2 for some time and your current opinion to still not recommend same.  I haven’t been concerned as I am running Win10.

However, I recently found the settings in my AMD PC to enable TMP2.  This means I will be offered the upgrade to WIN11 .  But, if I accept this, it appears it will install 24H2 !!

If I am correct I think I will reverse the TMP2 setting to make my PC again “unable to upgrade to Win 11”.

      Good idea ??

    • One reason I will not do a blanket update of my programs is that I have found that sometimes the latest “improvements”  have sometimes be a backward step for my purposes.

Example – a update of a freeware PDF reader I use removed a feature. This was one I found particularly useful. I have not updated this program since.

I rely on my anti-virus/anti malware programs for security of PDFs and other files.

Almost all PDFs on my system are generated by myself.

The same deal goes for other programs such as text writers, photo viewers etc

Regarding recovery backups.  When used for recovery if things go bad, do all/any of the recoveries also include 3rd party apps that had been installed?  Or do these apps need to be reinstalled ?

    • I have managed to pause the latest update using a combination of “Metered Connection” setting and making my supposed data limit low. It seems to work.
