    • Check out the changes, what do you think?

      Nicely done.  Thank you.

    • Question: How would these “special interest” sections be different from the forums already available for people to comment on all those issues?

It might provide easy topic access for users interested in a specific Operating System.  Right now, this site is becoming a kluge!  The original design of Ask Woody was easy to use and well-focused.

Actually, I’ve installed W11 on both my desktop and my laptop.  It is working well on both of my PC’s , w/o any major complaints, other than printing can be a little sluggish on my Canon TS 3500 (not a big deal); everything works with as advertised.  Overall W11 Home is OK for me.

I am AKA “Captain Obviously”. LOL!  Any way good luck when you get to install Win 11 on your device(s).

I assume that Win 11 will be a staged, “staggered”, rollout, as was the case with Win 10.  It probably won’t be immediately available for all “qualified” devices on Oct. 5Th., rather be prepared to stay with Win 10 for the foreseeable future. When you are eligible to install Win 11, do it carefully and prudently.

A basic question: “Where (and when) does the release of 21H2 fit into MS’ inspired scheme of upcoming events, or doesn’t it?”

    • It’s about time MS fixed this problem!  I wonder if this “fix” will trim SSD’s correctly?

BTW, a few days ago (as an experiment), I upgraded to 2004 using the Upgrade Assistant.  The install was smooth and everything worked, with the exception of Sleep/Wake function in 2004.  It turned out that the only way to fully wake-up Windows was a Restart, which is unacceptable.  I restored 1909 and have had no problems since.  After restoring 1909 my PC was updated with the latest AMD graphic drivers, so I’m temped to try my “experiment” again.  Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I have a feeling that AMD-based PC’s and Lenovo are pretty far down on their 2004 rollout list…

This has nothing to do with rollout list. It has to do with some hardware/drivers… 2004 compatibility. My Intel Lenovo Y530 has Realtek Bluetooth adapter and I use BT dongle for my Logitech mouse.

      OK, thanks for your input.

It will be interesting to see what’s in Windows’ “bag of updates” for this coming Tuesday( June 2nd.) and on June 9th. I have a feeling that AMD-based PC’s and Lenovo are pretty far down on their 2004 rollout list…  Glad to see I’m not alone on this issue.  Thanks Susan.

    • in reply to: Win10 version 2004 is here but… surprise! #2267054

Another surprise, 2004 has difficulty waking from sleep (giving a blank screen on waking) on my AMD-based PC; the only fix is to reboot. So, I restored Win 1909. The 2004 upgrade is going to wait for a while.

    • It seems to have no noticeable effect on my AMD-based PC.
