AskWoody_MVPA reminder – note from this Lifecycle FAQ page about Windows 10 ESU in the “ESU Availability and End Dates” section:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/faq/extended-security-updates*** The editions that qualify for the Windows 10 ESU include Enterprise, Education, and Pro in Commercial use.
Win10 Home edition is not mentioned for ESU

AskWoody_MVPWhy is x-64 nEdge installed in “C:\Program Files (x86)” instead of “C:\Program Files”?
it’s by “faulty” design of Microsoft, even on x64 based Windows
newer versions of x64 Google Chrome, on the other hand, no longer install in the “C:\Program Files (x86)” folder -

AskWoody_MVPI used this guy’s script to remove MS Edge, which is even better than using Revo Uninstaller Pro

AskWoody_MVPalso the CMOS battery size uses CR2032, commonly sold in most grocery stores and from popular brands like Duracell and Energizer
and yes, I have that “spudger” tool n0ads had mentioned; included in an iFixit essentials kit I ordered from Amazon several years ago

AskWoody_MVPone good reason why I only do in-place upgrades using ISO installation media created onto a usb stick to perform such major Win10 upgrades from such an old version onto a recent version, and takes about less than two hours using that method (and about an hour or less on modern PCs). I NEVER do something like this using Windows Update.

AskWoody_MVPnot worth getting Windows Server 2022 as it uses a much different version/build number than Win10; Win10 updates are incompatible with Server 2022 and vice-versa.
so I’d lean towards what Susan has suggested.Windows Server 2022 is based on the “Iron” codebase. It is similar to Windows 10 21H2, but its updates are incompatible with it.
