      • in reply to: mshtml.dll 5.50.4612.600 #530864

I’m not saying that the software is damaged or missing – it just does not work the way it is supposed to…i.e. When dynamic content is generated by a Web server and it is returned by using the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) Content-Disposition: Attachment header, you receive an Open dialog box. If you choose the Save As option, Internet Explorer prompts you with the file name and program type, but the file name is the name of the referrer document and the contents are the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) code instead of the file name that is indicated in the header and the contents that were dynamically generated and returned from the server.

Granted I do have some work-arounds…But these steps are just another point where human intervention can, and usually does, introduce errors.

Thanks Dave, but the dll there is older than the one that I already have. I suppose that I’ll have to bite the bullet and give M$ what they demand puke for the corrected version of THEIR mistake!

      • in reply to: Only 14 buttons on personal toolbar? #529909

You’re lucky to get 14, I only get 11 – seems to be based upon the length of the description. If you use single character descriptions, you might be able to get more than 14, but that would mean remembering what each character meant. Personally, I put only the sites that I visit most often on the Personal Toolbar, and change it whenever one site becomes more used than another….about once a week smile .

This has happened to me on a very new machine (less than 1 month) as well, and I finally started giving the *three finger salute* using both hands; Left hand Alt & Ctrl; Right hand quickly touch Delete. This seems to work OK for me…maybe for you as well shrug
